actually that wasnt it....i looked behind the glove box and there was a huge hole so when i covered it up it worked. Strange huh!?

  • moloch06 Jan 10, 2009

Yeah, Someone put it there. My heat wasn't working for one. Been like that for awhile. When i saw the hole I stuck my hand inside and closed the door and my heat popped on. My air and heat work when the blend door is closed. So once i closed it and covered up the hole everything worked fine!. So what's the use of the blend door being opened?

It wont hurt nothing if i leave it closed right?

  • moloch06 Jan 12, 2009

Any idea on what caused the hole?

  • Anonymous Jan 12, 2009

the blend door allows fresh air to enter the vehicle. I dont know why ford hasn't issued a campaign on this

Not at all but if you find the air getting "stale" in the vehicle try Cracking the rear windows while driving, the fresh air blend door is used for mixing the air.

Why is the rear vents blowing cold and the front vents have no air coming out on a 2003 ford explorer

Look in the front dashboard. You should have vent controls (2-3 buttons).. Press a couple while your air is running... If it doesn't blow air, your vent hose might have been removed or are clogged

Heating / air conditioning control stuck to front defrost vents

There is a vacuum leak under the hood. Find the vacuum line on the passenger side where it comes through the firewall and follow it to the engine. You system needs vacuum to operate and without it the default setting is on defrost for safety reasons.

2006 Envoy SLT air suddenly stopped blowing from vents

the resister block needs changing... oddly enough i'm unsure of what fan you are saying is not working.... if it's the front.. the resister block is located on the duct work under the dash for the air... near the fan... you will see a connector going into the side of the duct work. two screws and the block comes out... should be fairly obvious for the rear one but it will be near the fan.

Rear air suspension holding air not venting, staying up to high

The air suspension uses the same vent solenoid to vent front so that will be ok. The problem will either be the rear height sensor which mounts on/near left side of rear axle. Or the air suspension module itself.
I would suspect it is the rear height sensor, the link may have come unhooked or it may be sticking or just bad.

No air flow through 4 top rear vents

Don't worry, it's designed that way. The owner's manual is pretty unclear about this. But the heated air only comes out the floor vents underneath the front seats and the "heat vents" at the forward and side of the rear A/C compartment near the floor. The cooled or vent air flows from the overhead vents.
