Tire wear irregular tire wear

because it is a low profile tire with a wide tread , the 30 psi is a recommended pressure for a standard size tire
however at 30 psi you will probably find that it will wear with an under inflated wear pattern and the 40 psi is used to sit the tread flat on the road
best talk with a good tire shop as they have experience and reports form a vast range of customers who talk about the pressures they run to get the best wear from the tires
the tires I run are standard and the recommended pressure is 32 psi but the make of tire actually runs best on 38 psi and that comes from the tire manufacturer

check for tire balance and irregular tire wear as a reason that stars the problem. Next replace the shock absorbers as they no longer work properly

Probably has a bad tire on it. Take it to a local tire shop and have them check the tires for slipped belt or irregular tread wear.

The most likely causes are tire(s) out of balance, defective tire(s) or irregular tire wear. Irregular tire wear is usually an effect of mechanical problems. Irregular wear can be caused by something as simple as improperly inflated tires to steering/suspension issues.

Have ur front tires balanced and visually check for irregular wear patterns on the tire. This sounds like a tire balance problem but if irregular wear patterns are present u may have front end parts that need replacing.

sounds like bad struts alright.....how is the tire wear? worn out struts would wear the tires irregularly.

It doesn't really matter, cause if you don't have good wheel alignment on your tires it can cause a rough driver (on certain speed) and irregular tire wear. Go ahead and do wheel alignment on all wheels. Hope it helps and please don't forget to rate the answer, it helps me, thanks!

has anyone checked the alignment? this should have been done when the first set of tires were wearing irregularly and replaced.

Once the alignment is good just keep rotating at least every 6,000 miles. Aggressive tread designs on these cars have to be pampered or you will get the feathering

Humming or howling from the rear axel has two possible sources. One is a wheel bearing and the other is the tires. Look at the wear pattern on the tires. If they resemble a tractor tire with uneven edges, then it is possible that the tire is making the noise. When you use the term intermittant, do you mean only at certain speeds, or does the noise come and go?
