The drain plug on this radiator is plastic, nearly impossible to reach, and highly likely to leak if you do get it loose. I try to never loosen them up because of this. I would first test to see what the freeze point of the coolant is and then if you need to add some 100% antifreeze to lower the freeze point remove some coolant from the reserve tank and add the correct type of antifreeze back into it there. Use some sort of sucker to remove the coolant, DO NOT use your mouth on a hose to do so. Antifreeze is highly toxic. Coolant will circulate through the reserve [or degas tank as Ford calls it] and will eventually mix thoroughly with the rest of the coolant. -24F to -30F degrees is what the factory mix is usually good for. DO NOT add too much antifreeze as the correct blend is needed for the system to cool properly.
fill the radiator and fill the coolant bottle.if the leak is not that big try adding some lucas radiator stop leak or barrs leak radiator stop laek to the coolant
Remove radiator cap with engine cold, remove enough fluid so it can be replaced with stop leak. Add all stop leak & top off with anti freese. Put cap back on & start engine. Run engine for at least 20 minutes or take for a drive. Leak should stop if not too severe.Hope this advice helps if so rate accordingly. Good luck!
RADIATOR LEAKS ON THE OUT SIDE.YOU CAN LOOK AT FRONT RADIATOR OR THE SIDES YOU CAN SEE THE ANTIFREEZE LEAKS.HEAD GASKET LEAK YOUR ANTIFREEZE HAVE OIL IN IT.ALSO YOUR ENGINE OIL WILL LOOK LIKE CHOCOLATE MILK SHAKE.IT WILL FULL OF ANTIFREEZE.IF ALL IS GOOD REPLACE THERMOSTAT.IT WILL CAUSE ENGINE TO OVER HEAT.
the radiator cap is right there on top of the radiator at the front of the car....if nothing else and you still cant find it pour the stop leak into the overfllow and it will do the same thing
Heater not working sounds like a blower motor or heating core. Make sure that your antifreeze is green and mix 50/50 with water, now check and sqeeze your hoses running from and to the Radiator and if its VERY hard and has a crunch sound, it's blocked up, use radiator flush and follow directions, If not than look into the Thermostat b/c if it needs repaired than it will stick and let enough fluid into the engine so that it does not overheat yet with the pressure will back up into the resevoir. My new thermostat is a 140 degree and i've never soon my temp meter get to half way after that.
If your resevoir cap is a screw on cap it is probably the only cap you have most cars nowadays pressurize the resevoir and this is where you add coolant and dont have a rad cap
