What is the pressure on each cilinder for a 2.4 dodge stratus

Squirt some engine oil all cylinders see if compression build up,good engine should have at least 125 to 175 compression, if you cant get compression up any more likely you have worn pistons rings and burn valves

sounds to me like the timing might be a little off. after changing the timing belt did u recheck the timing to make sure it was good to go?

This same thing happened to me it was the oil sending unit that needed to be replaced. It's an easy fix but you have to take off the heat shield to get to it.

Firstly have u filled up with fuel recently ? Take a sample of fuel make sure u havnt put petrol in by accident seen it done hundreds of time or that u havnt run out of fuel . If that's ok then it could be the fuel metering valve in the pump this will cause incorrect fuel pressures most diesels need 250 bar of fuel pressure to start a blocked fuel filter cauld also cause a non start

What figures are those? The only pressure for fuel that I know of is pounds per square inch, or PSI. Fuel injected engines usually have a high pressure. For multi port injection, you normally have pressures of at least 40 psi.

Lifters noisey

the european ford escort '80-'86 had similar problems with that. problem is the hydraulic lifter cilinder burned engine oil settle inside those cilinders you have to remove the Camshaft you will find them and press them in with a little force and keep it overnight in a bucked of diesel to clean them up .blowdry them and put them back in the engine. check on damages while they are dry. they have to move when you aply pressure with your hands
WARNING when you start the engine because these cilinders are empty.your engine will make a hell of a noise .DON't be ALARMED this will go away in 1 or 2 minutes success

Do you know how check if every cilinder is working? with the engine in idle, go to the distribuitor cap and carefully unplug one at the time, every cilinder spark plug wire,in the cilinder you dont see a diference in rpm variation, that cilinder is not working, replace spark plug, if you see spark jumping fron the distribuitor cap torch the spark plug wire, another cause to a cilinder fail could be a loss of compression in one or more cilinder
