no jeep model or year, stated, hopeless to help , that...
if you go to any online jeep part store, jeep.com
and look at the your mirror for your car, you will see what
parts are replaceable, and to what LEVEL
FYI< some bodies of jeeps have sub models and mirrors change.
you can walk in to jeep and look at their screen or
do so online.
on some cars the inside mirror parts are replaceble
others are not.
here is RANDOM picked JEEP
but shows you , just how easy it is too look by self.
Shaun, I've never had to disassemble a Jeep power mirror. One of two possible problems here. Depends on how Jeep conveys the power to the "wing". If they use brushes and contacts, it may just be that the brushes got dirty when you folded it in [onto a corroded contact area] If this is the case, spray some penetrating oil into the gap between the wing and the base. Then fold and unfold the wing several times to clean the contact. Make sure that you have the wing pulled all the way out. There should be a detent that you can feel. If they use a wiring harness going up all the way inside the wing, one of the wires has broken. you would need to remove the mirror, disassemble it and repair the damaged wiring. Charlie
{: ) Have someone control the power fold buttons, while you check closely the passenger mirror. If you can feel or hear even a faint hum of the motor while commanded, try giving it a little help, but don't force it if you think it doesn't have enough power to extend or retract itself. The motor could be really stuck or inoperative.
Sometimes when the mirror has been accidentally or manually folded, it needs to be reset by just pressing on the fold buttons a few rounds and let the mirrors fold by itself. Like an exercise.
If you hear the humming noise whenever the fold buttons are pressed, we can assume that the circuit on that side is ok since it is responding electrically, and that a jammed or stuck mechanism is preventing it to move.
If you don't feel or hear any humming, as in totally no sign of response, then there will be additional considerations before deciding to go for a replacement mirror. You will need to confirm if the fault is on the wirings, a door module, or the mirror motor itself. A scan tool test may be recommended for effective diagnosis.
The power fold mirror can be serviced as an assembly. So, goodluck.
For the rear window, just need adjuts the both slightly...
Check the next procedure to Power Mirrors... Diagnosis &
Testing The exterior mirror control switch receives power
through circuit SBP12 (GN/RD) and ground through circuit GD143 (BK/VT).
The exterior mirror control switch uses circuit CPM23 (GY) as the common
circuit for both exterior mirror up/down and right/left movement.
Possible Causes:
Fuse 12 (7.5A) (SJB)
An open in circuits CPM23 (GY), SBP12 (GN/RD) or GD143 (BK/VT
A short to ground in circuit CPM23 (GY)
A short to voltage in circuit CPM23 (GY)
Exterior mirror control switch.
Checking the voltage at the mirror switch:
Key in OFF position.
Disconnect: Exterior Mirror Control Switch C527.
Key in ON position.
Measure the voltage between ground and exterior mirror control
switch C527-1, circuit SBP12 (GN/RD).
Voltage should be greater than 10 volts.
If voltage is greater than 10 volts, check that fuse 12 (7.5A) is
OK. If OK, REPAIR circuit SBP12 (GN/RD) for an open.
Exterior Mirror Motor Synchronization
NOTE
This procedure must be performed any time the power folding
mirrors are manually folded in or out, or if the position of the mirror
case has been moved without using the mirror control switch.
NOTE
If the power folding mirrors are folded or unfolded continuously
(6 to 10 cycles), the power lockout feature will disable the system for 2
minutes to prevent damage to the power fold motors. After 2 minutes
have elapsed, normal operation will resume.
Set the mirror control switch to the CENTER position.
Use the mirror control switch (press rearward) to automatically
cycle the power folding mirrors in and out 4 times.
When an audible popping sound is heard, the power folding mirror
motors are synchronized.
NOTE
It may be necessary to cycle the power folding mirrors in or out
up to 4 times before they are synchronized.
Removal & Installation Motor
Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions section.
NOTE
If equipped with power folding mirrors, they must be synchronized
any time the mirrors have been folded or unfolded without using the
mirror control switch. Refer to synchronization procedure.
Position the exterior mirror glass in a downward position to
obtain a gap at the edge of the mirror.
CAUTION
Place a shop towel between the exterior mirror glass and the hand
to avoid personal injury in the instance of glass breakage.
Insert a flat-blade screwdriver between the mirror glass tabs and
the mounting plate, and rotate to separate the locking tabs from the
mounting plate.
Carefully pull the top edge of the glass away from the exterior
mirror housing.
Fig. Mirror Glass removal shown
If equipped, disconnect the heated mirror electrical connectors
and remove the glass.
Remove the 3 exterior mirror motor screws and exterior mirror
motor.
Disconnect the electrical connectors.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Switch Expedition Trim Panel Removal
NOTE
The door glass must be completely raised.
Remove the window control switch plate.
Remove the door handle bezel.
WARNING
To avoid damage to the door trim panel, lift the door trim panel
by pulling directly upward on the armrest to disengage the panel clips.
Remove the two bolts and three screws, and remove the door trim
panel.
Remove the finish cover to access the two center screws.
Disconnect the electrical connectors.
Navigator Trim Panel Removal
Remove the door handle bezel.
Use service notch.
WARNING
To avoid damage to the door trim panel, lift the door trim panel
by pulling directly upward on the armrest to disengage the panel clips.
Remove the two bolts and three screws, and remove the door trim
panel.
Disconnect the electrical connectors.
Depress the locking tabs and remove the exterior mirror control
switch.
if you wish to "set" the seat and outside mirror, then ignition key to ON, no seatbelt, transmission in "P", no breaks. press SET at the door panel, move the seat and/or mirror to your position, then press "1" or "2", according to the key color you use ( 1 with the black key, 2 with the gray key).
