Take a screwdriver and pop the latch out towards the arm rest and pull the arm rest down and it should go down.

Parking brake will not release when I pull the handle. There is resistance in the handle

check under the dash to see if your signal relay is in place. they have a tendency to pop out and rest on the upper part of your braking arm and since it is lose, it will roll with the arm. if that is the case, pop it back in and use a plastic tie to hold it in place. good luck

How to fix a 2001 vectra seat release

You can try to pull on the belt with the plastic trim piece removed the take a flat tipped screwdriver the release the arm or bar holding the belt in the lock position. Most of these have a spring on them. That spring can fall out. Or sometimes the bar or lock arm may be jammed and needs to be pried loose then lubricated to prevent this from repeating in the future.

1997 Dodge Ram Console

Thats a whole different ballpark. The center seat consoles do not lock upright at all there is no locking device, you just lift it up and it has a small bump that the lever hops over and this keeps it from falling back down. The only thing I can think of is something could be wedged in the lever or the rotating level itself is broken and holding the seat up. You may be able to see what is holding it if you move the drivers seat as far forward as possible and watch carefully on one side while wiggling the console back and forth and then do the same on the other side. If could be the lever bent and you may be able to bent it back into plce where it should be.

Let me know what you find, in the mean time I will check the Chrysler Star Hotline to see if there was a simular problem.

Rear seat tumbled forward for more room in back and seat belt jamed. now back seat can not go back into position.

To fix that scenario, I have to get to the bolts anchoring the seat belt which can be found under the rear seat. Which a socket wrench, remove the bolt freeing the seatbelt to allow you room to release the lock to pull the belt out from the top of the back seat. You may now push the back seat into its upright position and then refasten the seatbelts with the bolt to it's former position under the back seat.

When I in later times need to lower the back seat, I will either loop the seatbelt around the head rest or tie two belts together allowing for slack in case the belt tightens again when trying to move the seat back to its original position.

.....Very frustrating!!!
