The service engine soon light came on in my girlfriends lw a couple days after the change oil light came on. So I figured the 2 must be related. However after changing the oil and resetting the change oil light, the service engine soon light is still on. Is it related to the change oil, and if so how do I reset that light.Or do you think I need to run a diagnostic test and see if it is something more serious.
Diagnostic test should give you a clue to what is happening

Under the hood, next to the battery, is a fuse box. Lift the lid (instructions are on the lid) and with the keyswitch on but the engine not running, press and hold the button that says "oil". The book says 5 seconds, but hold it for about 10. If someone is watching the dash lights while you do that, the change oil light should flash briefly.

i think 5w-30 is recommended for your car, you will have to reset the oil light , check the owners manual, if i remembr right turn the key on do not start the engine and depress the gas pedal to the floor three times, have the car scanned for the check engine light

You have to have one of the parts stores clear it. Did you check you gas cap. P0440 Is an emissions codes usually caused from a loose gas cap

Not sure, I would try with an OBDII scanner. Available at autoparts stores or online at JCwhitney. Good luck.
