Hi there:

Recall for the Saab 9-7X: power-window and door-lock switches

Make: SAAB Model: 9-7X

Model Year: 2006-2007

Manufacturer: General Motors LLC Mfr\'s Report Date: AUG 15, 2012

NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID Number: 12V406000 NHTSA Action Number: EA12004

Component: VISIBILITY, POWER WINDOW DEVICES AND CONTROLS

Summary:
General Motors (GM) is recalling certain model year 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT and GMC Envoy XL and 2006-2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, Buick Rainier, SAAB 9-7x, and Isuzu Ascender vehicles, originally sold or currently registered in Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and the District of Columbia. Fluid may enter the driver\'s door module, causing corrosion that could result in a short in the circuit board. A short may cause the power door lock and power window switches to function intermittently or become inoperative. The short may also cause overheating, which could melt components of the door module, producing odor, smoke, or a fire.

Consequence:
A short in the circuit board could lead to a fire, increasing the risk of personal injury.

Remedy:
The remedy plan is still being finalized. A notification schedule has not been determined yet. Buick, Chevrolet, and GMC owners will be notified by GM. Buick owners may contact the owner center at 1-800-521-7300, Chevrolet owners at 1-866-694-6546, and GMC owners at 1-866-996-9463. Isuzu owners will be notified by Isuzu Motors. Owners may contact Isuzu customer service at 1-800-255-6727. SAAB owners will be notified by SAAB Cars North America and for inquiries, owners may call SAAB customer service at 1-855-880-0808.

Notes:
GM\'s campaign number is 12180. Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration\'s Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY: 1-800-424-9153)

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Remove and replace drivers side power window switch

I am assuming its the drivers door window you are speaking of....
The drivers door has the master window switch w/lockout. The entire assembly must be replaced. The individual switches on the drivers door can't be replaced by themselves. Some GM vehicles allow the panel with the switch assembly to be removed without removing the door panel. However, most require the door panel to be removed for access to the window switch assembly. The master door/window switch assembly is not cheap, by the way.
I would check/replace the window relay first. Usually located under the dash, or under one of the seats.
Might just be the window motor on the problem window.

Shorting window switch

Vehicle? Do all the windows work when the switch is replaced? How long does it last? Are one of the other switches stuck in position?Do all the other swicthes seem okay?On gm they all run through drivers side. Some systems are different. From the drivers side to say the passenger side front there are two wires that switch polarity between up and down. one wire is negative for up and positive for down, the other wire acts exact opposite. the other system the motor is grounded and there is a positive for up and a positive for down and no ground runs through. but I would say a bad door seal somewhere(bottom of driver window,at hinge tube conduit, or between door and vehicle up by windshield as water will follow seal around to inside of door)of if its a ford could be a gem module problem.

Master power window switch not working only driver side if i keep trying pushing the switch will work sometime window going down easy never miss problem going up thank you sami

The fault is with the driver door controls and it can be a faulty switch , a faulty board , motor or the mechanism being too tight or jammed.
You need to remove the side panel to take a look at the switch, check the continuity of the switch, make sure there is no break of the wiring harness at the door hinges.
If the contact of the switch is open replace, test with a short to confirm,

I have 1997 ford contour driver power window will not work at all but all the other window work fine...would it be a switch or fuse problem?

checking fuses is always a good way to start and the cheapest. the switch could be dirty for instance if someone had spilled a coke on it in the past. it could also be the drive motor for the window. since all the others are working this could be a possiblity.

The electric windows in my 1999 Toyota Camry will go down, but struggle to go up and will stop altogether after about 2-6 inches of lift. I can push them up with my hand while holding the power switch in...

I would try to lubtcate the rubber tracks that the window slides up and down in. Sometimes, dirt gets into the tracks, and the dirt acts like brakes. Get some 100% SILICONE SPRAY, and spray the rubber slides real good. See if that helps.
