You can't. I had to take it back to the dealer and they replaced the entire stereo... THEN it happened again and they seemed to have fixed it - but said it's most likely the car itself (the computer). Still have the problem randomly with the second new stereo from GM. Good luck with yours!

I have given up. I just figure I have to budget a trip to the dealer a couple times a year to "unlock" the radio.
I'll never buy GM vehicles again. The government is giving the US automakers a bailout for making troubled cars. Brilliant.

This happens to me often...right after I start the car and begin to drive. I have to turn off the ignition and restart the car for it to go away.

I asked the dealership to look at the problem, but they said there was nothing wrong.

There are only 2 things you can try to fix this yourself: turn off the engine and open the driver side door (to turn the radio off). Wait 5 minutes, start your car.
If that does not solve it, turn off your engine, disconnect the car battery, wait about 5 minutes. Reconnect the battery (negative pole first - black connector) and try your radio again.

If neither one of these two fix your problem, I am afraid only a GM service center or dealership can fix the problem. The Cobalt is notorious for all kinds of electrical issues.

I have a 2005 cobalt every time I open the doors the alarm goes off I replaced the battery in keyless entry but they do not work can anyone help?

You may have accidentally broke the controller. They are fragile. The newer cars like yours automatically set the alarm when the doors are locked from keychain remote, or locking manually. New remote, $50-100.

My radio is lock how can i un lock it

Go to your local GM dealership. They have to retrieve a radio code with the factory scan-tool. They will then have to call tech-support and give them the radio code, so that they can get your unlock code.

It would be a good idea to have them write it down for you, and maybe even keep it on your owners manual in case this happens again. They will probably charge you 1hr labor for this which will be somewhere between $80 and $120.

The radio in a 2005 chevy cobalt in lock need it unlock

Mine does this frequently, however it usually unlocks after turning off the car and starting it again. Sometimes I also have to keep messing with the dial, turning the radio on and off. If there is a cd, I keep trying to eject it. It varies. If there is an exact way, I don't know.

2005 chev cobalt

I am sorry, but the factory default radio in all 2005 cobalt models does not have auxiliary audio input jacks anywhere. I wish they did.
