I have a 1995 olds cutlass supreme and my driver's side exterior door pull down handle just stopped working. It worked perfectly right before. The weather has been very cold where I am. If someone could give me any assistance on this it would be great. I do pretty good with fixing basic things, if anyone has diagrams it would be great thanks for the help

My driver's outside door handle was not working most of the time, and now with this cold, the passenger's outside door handle "snapped" and no longer operate at all (completly loose, no spring).

I still am able to "unlock" doors and the driver's side still is connected somehow, but just not enough to open the door.

So right now, I'm unable to open any of the door (it's a 2 door supreme).

    Any suggestions?

I have a 94 2dr cutlass and the same thing happend to me, now i can tell u how to fix the problam but the door has to be open to fix, so if your in the same boat i was with both door handles broke then there was only two ways i could think of to get the doors open with both handles broke, ether go threw the trunk and break the seat of break a widow witch is what i did, and once ur window is broke dont replace glass untill handles are fixed. what u do is once the door is open look on the inside behind handle and there is a black cover that has a few screws on it, remove this and u will have a perfect view of the lever assembly, i went to my local junk yard and got me two handles that were that were in good shape, and one u see how it works its a pretty easy fix

Until you get new door handles ordered just get a durable but not too thick rope to tie on the inside handle and close the door with the rope on the outside.. just pull the rope and the door should open.. you can go to a dealership to buy a new door handle, but its quite expensive.. i just got on ebay and bought a pair.. they are real easy to put on when you get them

This is a common problem with the gm models with the door handles on the side post.Should be an easy fix as long as you have a digital camera. There is a plastic cover on inside of post with three nuts holding it on remove, if the weighted piece is broke you will have to go to a junkyard and find a replacement, take a pic of it so you will know how it goes back together. If it isnt broke the rod that connects to the latch may need re-adjusted or a new retainer clip.Should be a some what easy fix.

I think it maybe that a novice can fix it.take of the panel or if the door has a removable panel just in the side of the door where the door latches onto the car. Many doors have an adjuster which you can adjust the door. or the stiff wire rod may have come off the door latch .

Ford transit 2006. Side sliding door will not open or unlock from inside. Opens easy from outside.

Sounds like the linkage for the interior door handle or lock mechanism has either broken or become disconnected. You will need to remove the interior door panel to inspect these parts.

What is it that i need for my 1999 chrysler door to open from the inside but it opens from the outside jus fin

sounds like the door release linkage has become disconnected at either the door handle or the door latch.the inner door panel will have to come off to get to the linkage inside the door.with the panel off you will be able to see where the linkage has come off.usually this happens at the door handle(interior).its usually just a broken clip that needs to be replaced.sometimes you can find this when you remove the panel behind or at the interior handle, and might be able to replace the clip without removing the door panel if your adept at working in tight spaces.

Door handle outside passenger wont open door . but it does open from the inside.

The outside door handle may be broken or may have become disconnected from the rod that allows the door to open. Sometimes the ther is a plastic clip that connects the rod to the door handle and could be broken any parts store will have replacement clips. Whatever the problem is, the door panel will have to be removed to be able to inspect the condition of the door handle and parts attaching to it.

How do i remove door outside door handle on q7

On the inside trim, you can remove screws (these screws may be covered by filler pieces or may be visible, or they may require you pry a plastic piece off that covers the screws) that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can disconnect the linkage connecting to the outer handle and remove the bolts securing the outer handle on

Outside driver side door handle won't work. Feels like it's disconnected.

Take the panel of the inside of the door, you will probably find the wire has slipped out of the door handle.
