Dont think they will be related but when you press the brake pedal with the ignition on can you here a solenoid click under the gear shift? These are common to fail and often don't release the shifter.

your thermastat went bad replace thermastat

it does press out/in, but they can get stuck. u are using a hydraulic bearing press?

Undo the mast lock ring, and switch on radio.

the ecu is located under the black plastic cover in the engine bayat the rear on the leftside there are four security screws to remove to get to it.  But why, itwould not be my first choice   good luck rod

first i would try checking relays,fuses, and the ground cables. replace as neccesary....now for checking the ground cables.....i would disconnect them and try scuffing them up with a wirebrush or something that will scuff up the metal a little bit then re-attach them.....test the blower and see if it works.....let me know what happened.
