2005 Expedition - Changed battery and Cd changer won't work now, is there a fix?

I changed the battery out and then the 6- Cd Changer stopped working. There are five CD's in there and I can't eject or load and it doesn't register any of them. Is there a fix?

I am not familiar with the 2005 Expedition CD changer, but many of the higher end devices require a code to be entered when the power is disconnected. This helps reduce the theft of car audio equipment since it can not be used again until the correct code is entered. Ford dealership can either enter the code for you or look up the code if you do not have the original manual for the CD changer which should have the code written somewhere in the first couple of pages.

SOURCE: cd changer wont work

First make sure you have not burned out a fuse, or the changer has not locked itself out. Are you sure the whole system is working at all? Some factory car audio equipment refuses to work after it has lost power, to foil thieves, and wants a code before it will work again. Read your manual and call the Ford dealer and ask about that.

If it is truly dead, you have two choices. Replace the stock unit or upgrade to something really nice (www.crutchfield.com)

The stock audio equipment is not very good and dies young. It's a source of extra profit for the car manufacturer. They install a low-end component with "Ford" written on it, and charge a hefty price for it in a new car. All the car companies do it.

If you go to the dealership and buy a new one, you will spend many $$ to get an equally poor quality replacement, but it will slide right in there with no work at all and you will be back in business.

You can also find a used one from a auto parts recycler, much cheaper than a brand new unit.

SOURCE: cd changer stuck

I had to take the changer out of the console and get the CD that was hung up. I then replaced everything.

I have change the battery on my 2005 yukon, and my 6 cd radio changer tells me there is no discs, but the truth is it has all the 6 cd's in; is there a way to reset this so i could pull or play the...

I know what this is, when you changed your battery you reset your in dash cd player. Shuting off the security code. you need to take it to a shop or at the worst your local Dealership and they can reset the security code on your radio and it should work proper again. This is an anti theft device that disables the deck if it is removed from the dash Or from power. Hope that helps.

Good evening, my cd player just stopped working in my expedition. It keeps saying cd error. Even when i try to eject the cd it says the same thing or when i swith cd's. Its a factory 6 cd changer...

I had this happen in my old dodge stratus. My trick to remove cd's was when you stopped or parked the car turn vehicle off and hit the eject button and it will usually eject the disc. remove all discs and then install them again when car is parked and not moving as vibration and bumps while driving can sometimes miss align the disc in the player. Sometimes when the stereo didn't work at all I disconnected the battery and it would reset and work. If this doesn't work it may be broken. Good Luck.

I changed the battery in my 05 dodge caravan and now the cd changer doesn't work.it ''gears'' up when you turn on the power but the mode button only recognizes am and fm and not cd any fix?

sounds like a bad radio that shouldnt happen bttery has no effect on changer opperation if the radio powers up the changer should work as long as its a factory radio w an internal six disc changer.

6CD Cahnger-Infinity G35 2005

This is a common CD changer we see in shop for repair, see www.carstereohelp.com However, before thinking of repair, disconnect one of the main car battery terminals for several minutes then reconnect. This is easier then removing the stereo and reinstalling and acts as a reset for the changer. Otherwise, repair.

Remove the player and have it repaired, that is all you can do.
