Hi. this is caused by a blown head gasket or warped head. This situation is very serious and it will require immediate attention as soon as possible. If this gasket or head isn't repaired, it will ruin the entire engine.

The most common situation here is a blown head gasket but, it can exceed to a more serious issue like an warped head as well.

The cooling fans will not come on until 225 degrees. Normal temp is around 199-215. Sitting still in traffic most will inch up around 220 or so. When you turn ac on it turns the fans on and may cool down engine, Check fan operation.

Yes this models tend to do that, check the coolant mixture after repair, yes is a diy proyect but you at least will have basic mechanic abilities to perform this, make sure you mark all the hoses and cables when dismantling.

I hate to tell you this because I know it isn't an easy task changing the water pump but if it is coming between the block and the water pump housing you need to pull it back off and make real sure it is very clean by scraping the old gasket off and putting sealer on the gasket. Every bit of the old gasket has to be removed before putting the new gasket on. You could try and tighten down your bolts a little but be careful not to break the bolt or you then have another problem.

you have to reseal the oil pan, the oil pan is a 2 piece upper and lower pan. the engine or trans mission has to0 be rtemoved to remove the oil pan per general motors there is new sealer available also the front and rear crankshaft seals should be replaced (need special tools to replace seals)
