It sounds to me like no power check the fuse first and although it,s rare that both bulbs could be bad at the same time I have seen it happen so check brake light bulbs that would cause these symptoms. It sounds to me like no power check the fuse first and although it,s rare that both bulbs could be bad at the same time I have seen it happen so check brake light bulbs that would cause these symptoms.

Brake lights run through the hazzard switch. There are known problems with this, and the multifunction switch. You may need to buy a new hazzard switch and OR the multifunction switch. Before you do that, check the pigtail that goes into the brake switch up by the fender, make sure it's not shorting out up there. Happened to me!
there is a separeate flasher relay for turn signals, usullay by hazzard flashers.turn on hazzards use sound to locate, turn flasher will be near.some will interchange to get you by till you can replace.
Turn on the hazzard warning lights and you should hear a clicking sound comeing from your. fuse panel. it should be comeing from the flasher. The car runs 2 flashers one for emergency use wich is your hazzard lights and one for your everyday turn signals. the flashers look exactly the same but one flasher could be behind your fuse panel. in most cases one is behind your fuse panel. this is more than lickly your problem is that your flasher whent out this is a compleatly normal thing to happen on vehicles and it will only cost arond $15 to buy the new flasher
Hey HotrodHarley,
I would pull out your hazzard switch and clean it real well. the signal, brake lights are connected to the hazzard switch and if it doesn't fully disengage you wont get the brake lights or the flashers to come on. It happened to me on my 89 Raider last year.
Sounds like a short in the steering colume, maybe the turn signal switch, or a wire that the insulation got wore thru in the colume. Unhook break light switch and try the turn signals and hazards again and see what happens, maybe you can isolate it that way. Also if you havent done it already chk.the sockets in tailight housing for corrosion and bear wires, or anything, even ground wires.
turn signal dont work an brake lights
replaced turn signal flasher now o/d off light&raido do not work
