I am having the same problem. I had the computer reprogrammed and it fixed it for about 200 miles. Then I had the computer rebuilt and it ran for about 250 miles, now it is back in the shop. It is a 2001 93 Viggen.

Which lights come on? ABS light, check engine light and so on?

When I start my 2000 escape it splitters and coughs. once the car warms up or you drive it,the sputtering goes away, runs fine, no lose of power.I can park it come back hours later.an it doesn't do it if the temp of the escape isn't cold its about 32deg outside rate now . Had the mass air flow sensor replaced was good for 2 weeks now it's doing it again

It might be the water temperature sensor for the brain not reading the right temperature, causes wrong parametres in the warming up periode, and then the diagnostic lamp will show.

A lot of the time you will need a scanner or computer to remove the codes from the system to clear abs/ traction lights.

Why does my 2002 Ford Windstar se idle at 3000 rpms and drop back down below 1000 rpms

The mass air flow sensor, the throttle body and the idle air control motor need a good cleaning. Use a brush and brake clean everything except the Mass air flow sensor, just spray it down, both sides. After you clean it, it will take a few second to restart.

The check engine light comes on and it dies on occasion. It is intermittent. Had it scanned and was told the only fault was mass air flow sensor. Cleaned the mass air flow sensor, replaced fuel filter and...

Anytime you make a change to any part of the emissions system, its best to disconnect the
battery for a few minutes. If you don't, the computer retains the fault code and it will usually keep
coming back. When all power is lost to the computer, it will do a complete scan when reconnected
and engine started. Try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes then reconnect and see what happens.
