Up to 4 months before it stopped, whenever i turned on the heater , a/c, or just the fan it was very loud, sounded like it was having trouble working. trying to figure out what parts to check before trying to pull the whole thing apart.

YOU NEED TO REPLACE THE BLOWER MOTOR. IT IS LOCATED ON THE PASSINGER SIDE UNDER THE DASH. LAY ON THE FLOOR BOARD AND LOOK UP. THERE SHOULD BE 4 7MM BOLTS HOLDING IT IN AND ONE WIRING PLUG.

Heater not blowing hot air

When the fan motor is loud it means its out of balance. Kind of like a dishwasher.

Could a business card or two have slipped through the defrost vents ? or maybe leaves have accumulated in the fans squirrel cage.

A heater motor isn't hard to remove. Usually above your feet on the passenger side held in with 3 or 4 screws and one heavy wire.

Loud noise when a/c and defrost are on

I would check the fan motor for the heater sounds like the bearing is going out. Does it scream and then go quite or rumble if so it is probably the heater fan. It will run and blow air but it will make a lot of weird noises. If you shut the fan off and the noise goes away it is the fan.

I have a '02 Pontiac Sunfire with a 2.2 engine...for about a month, I've noticed my air conditioning is barely blowing no matter what setting I have it on. Now, it blows cold or hot air, but...

you say that you feel air but it isnt forceful. the answer is your ac/heater blower motor resistor. it is located under the pass side glove box and the blower motor is a big black cylinder and right behind it on the left is the resistor. take that out. got to autozone and pick one up for 25$.

Fan for heat and ac wont blow air. Makes A loud clicking sound

mcdevito75 here, The heater/Ac fan motor is a sealed unit, locate the fan motor, as you look at the engine from the front of the car the fan motor will be on your left side comming out of the firewall, It"s a round cylinder like and is black, from inside the car put the fan on, tap the fan motor itself with a screwdriver, small wrench, etc. see if it"ll start, if not have your local shop replace this fan motor.

Fan Blower Makes noise

Sounds like the fan needs to be replaced. But first, to check for obstructions, remove the carpet liner from the underside of the dash on the passenger side and you'll see the blower motor under the dash held in with three screws. If there's something obvious blocking it, remove it and reinstall the fan. If there's nothing blocking it, then you'll probably need to replace the fan. Any auto parts store, Rockauto.com or E-Bay will have the correct fan for your Grand Prix.

Have a 1982 VW Rabbit conv. The heater fan blows then stops.

Sounds like the resistor has blown from what you say... this is the 4" long Green ceramic bit on the heater blower motor... you can buy them seperately.

But.. watch out, the switch on the dash on Mk1 Golfs / Caddys are very common

Heater fan blowing intermittently or not at all

Most likely it does, if you can hit the motor and it will run. I can't say for sure but you might want to chk. to see if you got a heater blower motor resister. There located (if its got one) around the heater motor and it controls blower speeds, might be worth checking out.
