Front driver head light, driver brake light, entire back lights and instrument lights are all out

1989 honda crx 1.5L standard L3 ****** d15b2 engine. Worked fine since I bought the car about 6 months ago and all the sudden started to have electrical problems. And it keeps getting worse and more things keep blowing. I found one problem so far, the fuse for the instrument lights was blown so i replaced it and it keeps blowing. I also have one door popper hooked up to the driver door and that was the first thing to go. It worked fine then i parked and the door popped open twice on its own then it died and doesnt work. The same thing happened with the in line fuse for the power cable for the door popper. I replaced it and it keeps blowing!!! Someone please help. Thanks

SOURCE: A/C & power door locks not working

Hi, This was the perfect solution to my problem!!! I go to my 01 Honda Civic a few days ago and my power locks weren't working ,my a/c wasn't blowing cold,my dome light wasn't coming on, and my brake indicator light wasn't going off. My husband spent half the night trying to figure out the problem, then we get on the internet and found this site ,so helpful. We called Honda the next day and ordered the multiplex control fuse box that goes under the steering column through my husband's work, it cost $120.00 wholesale and put it in the next day, problem solved!!!! This site is a great help, thanks so much and keep up the good work!!!

Sounds like it has a bad/missing earth strap for that particular light.

Wire brush the contacts or fit new earth strap.

I have an 84 honda crx. I changed the head and swaped it with an 86 civic because the timing belt broke and bent some of the valves. The car now idles great but when i drive it putting it under a load......

Sounds like timing to me. Rent a timing light - or just pay a friendly mechanic to check your timing. There is a special tool you can use to check your timing for top dead center.
Here is a home remedy. Mark the distributor and the engine for location. You can score them both with a standard flat head screw driver. Loosen the distributor. Have a helper start the car. With the helper pushing to the car to around 2500 - 3500 RPM turn the distributor a little each way to see if you notice a better power band. On older cars like yours be careful not to get a shock from lousy plug wires. If you go to turn the distributor and get a nasty but harmless shock - consider putting new plug wires on the car. You should notice a great increase in performance. You may need to adjust this the first time or two but it is a great way to tune the car when no timing light is around. Be sure to tighten the distributor bolts.
Best of it.

My brake lights arent working on my 1989 Honda CRX. Replaced the switch and fuse and they worked for a bit. Now I've had to replace the fuse a dozen times and it keeps blowing. Any ideas on a solution?

Sounds like you got defective switch.change it out again if the same thing happens you have a couple of ground wires under the rear panel make sure they are good and tight if they come louse it can short the system out and overload the fuse . hope this helps you !
