SOURCE: 92 Nissan Pathfinder brake lights stuck on

Change the brake light switch on the brake pedal arm. Go down to the parts store and ask for a new brake liight switch for your Pathfinder and look up under the dash where the brake pedal arm goes and you will see the switch. You will need to unplug the wires to your old one and disconnect it and install the new one the same way. It is pretty much self adjusting once the brake pedal is released. If the brake light does not go out adjust the switch pin to be longer so it will depress when the pedal is released

I have a Nissan Pathfinder 2006 I took out the stereo and I want to install my own . the harness connector I cut I need to know what wire is what on the Pathfinder 2006 so I can install my stereo

Reattach the wires and buy a wiring kit you can pick one up at Walmart now or any car part store for about $20. They're color coded and let's you wire up any radio in 5 min. Worth the money and keeps you from shorting out your radio or other circuits.

I haven't cut a radio harness since the early 90s no need to anymore. Good luck

The wires going to the plug that goes in the maf sensor on my 96 Nissan pathfinder are cut in two. can they be spliced or should they be replaced in order for maf to work?if replace CAN SOMEONE WALK ME...

Why would you think wires can't be soldered
& heat shrunk?

Where would you get other wires anyway !

Have to cut them off at a salvage yard & then
still have the splice & solder thing to do

Speakers wont work cant figure it out

have you verified that sound is comming from radio. Start from the begining. Splice the wire from the radio check that audio is comming from the unit. Then check to see if you have a factory pre amp in the trunk or hidden under a seat or something like that. If all the electical parts are good just run new wire, its a lot faster than tracking down a crimp or break in the wire.

THIS IS ASUMING YOU HAVE ALREADY VERIFIED THAT THE SPEAKER ACTUALLY WORKS, YOU HAVE DONE THIS RIGHT.

Need Wiring Schematic for 1992 Cabriolet Karmen

Magnet,
It sounds like the moron spliced into your power wires in your dash, to make your stereo work... or more likely cut them completely!
If you have the Chilton Manual Part #70400 ( 74 and Later Rabbit/Golf/Jetta...) and turn to page 12-79, you'll find a wiring schematic for your Cabriolet.
Hopefully, you won't have to tear your whole dash out to fix this mess!
I suggest removing the new stereo first. and then start looking around in there for a brown w/red stripe wire hanging loose somewhere. If you find it, just get a wire nut, or **** connector, and splice it back together with it's missing end. You can do this as a 3 way splice quite easily, and it's common practice in alot of stereo shops. Seems that oftentimes that ignition cable is just the easiest power supply on hand!
Hope this helps!
