No valet switch or fuses to srs light in dash. around same time only the driver door stopped fully unlocking via remote, power lock button, or manual methods(key or pull tab) to open. even when battery was charged enough to acknowledge remote disarming alarm.not sure if alarm was after market or not.(I think a.m. but old.) any help on opening driver door while mostly locked from inside or an explanation for drain of battery. would be extremely generous.

sounds like the drivers side key switch has failed remove the interior door panel and there will be a switch attached to the back of the key lock cylinder or around there it should be two or three wires also check the door jamb wire harness where the door closes for any broken or damaged wires, use a vot meter and see if you get power or ground to the opposite side of the switch when you use the key to lock and unlock the door if nothing changes and there is power or ground! at this switch i would replace it, i don't think there is one but if the car has a passenger side key hole try to unlock the car from that side and see if you get the same problem -jeff

The driver's side door lock button is designed not to lock from the inside unless the handle is pulled, or the power switch is used. This serves as a reminder to not lock your keys inside.
If you are inside, and push down on the button (not the switch) hard enough to lock it, you've probably damaged it.

You will probably need to replace the power door lock actuator.
