Wont start but will crank .i can here the fuel pump every time I switch key on
Check for spark while cranking you might have a bad crankshaft position sensor that would shut off the spark and injectors
I have the same problem. I have determined it to be something to do with the car not recognizing the chips in the key. When you put the key in and turn the ignition to "on" check to see if the little key in a car symbol shows up before it starts. If it does it should start, if not and it doesn't start thats probably your problem. I would then call the dealer or a mechanic.
SOURCE: replaced fuel pump in 2000 hyundai elantra and
well if she ran it to long with no oil it might be locked up and might be able to turn it over if its not to bad. but you should still get power going to your fuel pump i would check all connection going to fuel pump and no broken wires. try even un plugging battery to see if there's a bypass
SOURCE: fuel pump will not pump
Although there are a few other solutions, the most likely one is the system is airlocked. What that means it that an air bubble was trapped around the fuel pump, and the pump cannot move the air. Your best bet is to bleed the system. The easiest way to do this is to disconnect the outlet on the pump until you see fuel coming out. After that you reconnect the line and all should go well. Good luck and I hope this helped.

chances are the recall was not performed correctly and when was reassembled the tech accidently cut a hose when installing into take or forgot a o-ring on the pump itself

Already replaced the crank sensor. It fired up then I turned off and tried to start again and hasn't started since
could be a bad sensor was it from the dealer or a parts store?
