Question about 1996 Nissan Altima

1 Answer

I have niisan altima 96, the problem is for the stop light, the right one works really weird - if push the breaks it works but not so bright as a left one and when the fog lights are on during i push

Before happaned the other: my break light switch got broken and lights stayed on for more than 24 hours, one of the left stop light socket got burned but i changed it and it works fine. the right one had no burn or nothing but it works bad. I had changed the high mounted bulbs too.

SOURCE: Malfunctioning brake lights.

Most likely a short in your break line. You might also check the brake switch, but I would think if the break switch was going, it you wouldn't even have the third lite working...

sounds like a bad bulb, ther are two filaments in the bulb one for park lights and one for brake lights,so park lights will work but not brake, also make sure bulb is installed correctly, hope this helps, good luck.

96 nissan maxima break lights still does not work ive repklaced the bulbs fuses and replaced the break switch

Brake light switch is generally open or off when plunger is pushed in and closed or on when the plunger is released.

The brake switch is mostly mounted above the brake pedal and adjusted so the plunger is pushed in, in the brake off position and released when the brake pedal has moved down about a half-inch - so the lights illuminate before the brake is actually applied.

I have a 2011 nissian altima and when i push on break the break light goes off but when i let off break light comes on what does it mean?

check your brake light switch on the brake pedal, more than likely thats where the problem is, when pedal is push down, the plunger on the switch is released to turn lights on, when you let up off the pedal the plunger gets push in by the pedal to wich its mounted, which inturn shuts the lights off. do you see how its suppost to work ? thats the only switch for your brakes , soooo yours is backwards correct ? must need re-mounted in its proper location........... OK

My left flasher stopped working suddently

If the right flasher is working and the left flasher is not, that should be a burned out light bulb, either front or rear. (outside)
If you will wait until it is dark, it is easier to diagnose.
After dark, turn on the right turn signal, then look carefully at the brightness of the front and the brightness of the rear turn signal. Now, turn on the left, and again observe the brightness of each. One of the bulbs should be out, or not as bright as the other side. That is the bulb you will need to replace.

How do you switch on the bright lights to see if they work. going to get the car inspected and the bright lights do not work.

for the most part you pull up on the lever on the left side and some of them you push down stop by a GM-dealership to make sure so you do not break it wish you the best Michigan Man.

2006 HHR trailer wiring?

Check ground wire to the trailer. On the vehicle and the trailer. Make sure you have a good ground as lighting will seek any path for ground which will feedback and cause lights to act really weird.

Head lights

Open the hood and get a bright flashlight handy (even in daylight) it will make them easier to spot. Look on top of the headlight assembly 1 st for the left/right screw(s) and then straight into the assembly from the front for the left/right scew(s). The adjustments are not always clearly marked but you will usually see a flathead, phillips. or sometimes a torx head adjustment screw. The front adjustments tune the headlights up/down - the top adjust left/right. Good Luck!!! P.S. the best way to adjust them once you have found the screws is to park about 5 feet away from a garage door at night. Begin adjustments against the beams on the door. They should be directed center left/right and slightly downward up/down.
