My heater in my 2000 jetta stopped working after the car overheated a few days ago. Before this problem the coolant hose had a small crack in it, but I replaced it. What could need to be replaced?
2000 jetta warms up when idling, but gets cold as soon as I start driving.
Replace thermostat...start the car let it run for abt 15 min till it heats up & check houses if hose to thermostat is cold or other 1 is warm but not hot thats ur problem thermostat....easy fix up & no hassle...dont overheat the car always blast heater no matter what it cools down the temp...for future reference if car over heats
If your fan is working and is blowing cold air, your thermostat is stuck in the open position so that your car never reaches operating temperature and your coolant is not hot enough to generate warm air in your heater.
