The intake temperature sensor is part of the mass air flow meter which is the black box mounted between the air filter and inlet tube. If you are getting a code for IAT, you need a MAF.

I personally have not connected one of these Chips to a Tahoe...What I can provide you with, is the Connector Diagram so you know exactly what Wires you need to Splice in to. See below...

red with blue stripe and black... cut the red with blue strip and connect one end of the resistor to the harness side. Then splice the other end of the resistor to the black wire... do not cut it just splice into it.
