remove compressor drive belt I guess, removes main mechanical burden ...if you want to remove compressor itself, or even condensor, to save the weight of car carrying that now redundant component around, you can do that too..bear in mind before loosening off any hoses or steel gas lines of the system that it will contain a/c coolant gas still under some pressure. Compressor is the main weight and mechanical burden on engine, although when system is switched off the compressor pulley load drive effort is low, anyway. if car has one "serpentine" belt driving everything, rather than a separate AC drive belt, then, it is possible that removing the compressor will necessitate fitting a new shorter engine belt compatible with no AC.Depends of car's belt arrangement.
As a 2003 Honda Crv owner I can tell you Honda Crv's have a compressor Engineering design /defective/ faulty problems. There was a civil action law suit because of this. Unfortunatley I had already had my whole system flushed and replaced with 79,000. Make sure they replace the condensor and the rubber hose lines due to metal fragments in the AC system. If you dont you will be replacing system again. spent 1600.00 and WASNT happy finding out that Honda atually knows about this problem.
depending on where its at, it will either be a high side or a low side line, i'm at hopme righ now and dont have my manuals with me, but generally the lines after your compressor up to the dryer are high side, and from the dryer to the compressor are low side, hope i was able to help
The head pressure got too high on the ac system, when you have the ac compressor replaced, and it`s components, make sure the condenser is flushed out good, and that the cooling fans are working with the ac,they need to come on with the ac,if this was at all helpful, please rate, thank you.
I would suggest leak testing it you can take hose with clamps to the outlet and put a psi gauge on it then hook a compressor to the other end with a hose with clamps. This will show you if you have any obvious leaks you dont need alot 10psi and hold as long as you would like atleast a min you can also spray it with soap bubles to be sure. the condenser if its not leaking would be fine with a flush.
It will not function until it has a refrigerant charge. There is a low pressure cycling switch in the AC compressor that will not let it function with low pressure. The system should be filled with PAG oil and refrigerant as that is what lubricates the AC compressor keeping it from destroying itself.
