Car died on the road, after cooling ran again. It bubbled antifreeze out of the expansion tank.I replaced the cap and that helped but it never seems to kick on the radiator fan , the heater blows cold air , the temp guage never goes up. One month ago the car got a new thermostat and water pump everything was work perfectly and suddenly this. The car starts and runs very good and appears to be no coolant in the oil. Hot coolant does circulate threw top radiator hose and expantion tank ,
so why not threw heater core? Occationaly air bubbles surface in expantion tank
Is your temperature gauge working now? That is of more concern then your heater as you wouldnt know if your engine was overheating until its too late. Your heater core could be clogged, they get clogged quite easily. You can flush them or replace. The part is inexpensive but on some models you have to take out dash to replace them, but on other models it only takes about 30 mins and a few bolts.
It looks like you have an air buble somewhere in a system, maybe in heater core. Cooling system flash might help.
If car died on road due to overheat it is not a good sign. You might need to check the head gasket too.
Good Luck
I have to agree with the previous statement..if it got that hot re:seized engine the aluminum heads surly warped!
