I'm having the same problem with my 00 GMC Sierra. If you do NOT have dual zone climate control, it's just to the passenger side of the transmission hump under the hush panel underneath the dash. 3 screws take off the hush panel, two take off the actuator. One screw on the hush panel is a pain in the **** to get out. I'm still trying to figure out if the "upper" or "lower" is the proper fit for it. If you have dual zone, then one is under the passenger side, and the other is under the driver side. Hope this helps!

Hi. the 100k mark will be a great mileage start point for some serious preventive maintenance on this vehicle. This includes a transmission flush, radiator flush,fuel and filter change and, complete tune up procedure.

I would also scan the ECM/PCM for any hidden stored codes as well.

These cars have temp sensors in each vent,this is defenitly a temp sensor or control module problem.Thats why problem comes and goes.Need to take to shop.
