Corolla 2004 (light check engine)

After I wash engine of My Corolla 2004. now there is (light check engine) car not sifting smoothly in to 4th gear.
Computer showed Code#P2770 which is related to: electric solenoid problem.
Please help me how to fix this.

Hello guys I have same problem , I have change automatic gearbox all work nice but in time when I go to slow speed appears, P2770 Open in Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid Circuit (Shift Solenoid Valve SL)
I do every checks which written in techdoc and didn't find the problem
I checked connection with ECM all good
I checked resistance , is 13 om
I checked Solenoid Valve SL he is work
I put other ECM from fixed car , this dosen't helped me
May be somebody has same trouble?

Find the corresponding solinid and blow the plug out with compressed air then disconnect battery for 5 minuets and then recheck codes and shift problem if no better you may have damaged it

best idea not to clean down engines as this is not uncommon with cars these days to amny wires

check the joint where the shift linkage attaches to the shift shaft at the transmission....you either have a pin missing in the joint or missed the splines when making the connection at the shaft...........Make sure it is in neutral at the shaft and inside the car at the shifter before making the connection at the shaft.............

350z 2004 a/t with 120k miles 3 days ago my car overheated but reached just half of the temp gauge and i stopped the car and by the time it went back to normal i turned off the engine to cool down....
I don't think overheating of the engine has much to do with the transmission, either automatic or manual. If you have an automatic transmission, did you check the fluid? Sometimes low fluid stops certain gears from changing, as the torque converter doesn't have enough fluid to pressurize the servos to engage the clutches.

You need to take your car and have the check engine light read. You can do that a AutoZone for free and they will tell you want is wrong. Can you give more details on the "Jumping" part? Is it when you put it into gear? While its sitting their?

It is probably engine-related, seems to do this under load. How long has it been since you replaced the plug wires? Have you ever replaced the ignition coil(s)? It sounds like a classic secondary ignition issue, so I'd look at those first, depending on miles on the clock you might just be due to replace one, or both-the plug wires are not too expensive and easy to replace, throw in a set of plugs while you do the wires too and you will probably be alright.

The Transmission is likely shot. That year along with others had transmission defects. My new 2002 TLs died at 21k miles. I go to Acura for most all service and they gave me a $1500 discount on a tranny. It still cost me $3500.
