2002 Land Rover Discovery Series II Logo
Anonymous Posted on Aug 09, 2012

I replaced the bad stereo in my 2002 Land Rover Discovery with a used one that powers up, but I don't have the code to unlock the stereo. How do I obtain this stereo code?

The stereo in my Land Rover Discovery Series II has navigation capability.

May be next to impossible.  The code is assigned to the original vehicle the radio came out of.  If you have the vin number for the other vehicle you could try contacting the dealer but they may require proof you own both trucks.

Thank you, Skychief2001. Unfortunately I bought the stereo on ebay and haven't been able to contact the seller.

You can't unless you have the VIN of the vehicle it came from.

SOURCE: radio unlock code for 1998 land rover discovery

Give the dealership your VIN# and they will in turn provide you with an 'unlock' code. Input the code and you should have radio. If not, you will need to remove the radio and give the dealer the chassis # found on the case.

SOURCE: land rover discovery central locking.

No, likely to be caused by the actuators in the lock mechanism failing usually causing the door to remain locked. The boor door can also fail this way, as do the front side doors. Replacement requires the whole lock unit to be replaced at a cost of roughly £60 a lock, and a hours work. Helps if you have small hands. Requires a full strip down of the door and you will need the lock unit, trim clips (a few quid) and a trim removal tool (tenner). You can bodge with a flat head screwdriver, but the tool does help prevent damage to the clips & trim panel.

SOURCE: transfer case oil change- 1999 Land Rover Discovery II

No need for a diagram, to drain the oil, there's a drain plug on the bottom of the transfer box, under the handbrake drum. To fill, the fill plug is about in line with the centre of the handbrake drum and to the left. I think both plugs are 1/2" square. Fill to overflow with Texaco Multi-Gear 75W/90R. Takes about 2L or so.

SOURCE: 2001 land rover discovery II locate fuel filter and fuel pump

If you're standing looking at the rear of the vehicle, it's on the chassis rail on the right hand side rear wheel arch.

SOURCE: 2001 land rover discovery II locate fuel filter and fuel pump

for Land Rover Discovery 1999-2004 no more external Fuel Filter serviceable anymore...it's a built-in part with the fuel pump. so if you want to change the filter then change the whole fuel PUMP.

Suggested Solution 2002 Land Rover Discovery Series II Logo Problem with 2002 Discovery Series II Starts fine when cold, after running dies on idle then wont start 2002 land rover discovery, starts fine...

The ignition system is controlled by the ECM. Check power at fuse box in on right side under dash. Check fuses right side engine compartmentlower dash panel if all OK check power to ECM located right side "A" pillar in alloy box. this unit could be faulty if no spark at coils, assuming they have been connected correctly. may have to get tested for codes at L/R dealer or someone with test tool. Another source of problem may well be flat battery in transponder key. The indicator light on the dash willflash rapidly for 10 seconds if the vehicle has been unlocked with the remote and the drivers door is opened if the battery in remote is getting low

Land rover discovery series 2 How do i plug in to the wirinng harnes from a after market stereo to the factory harnest from land rover i cant get sound from the speakers

it is a possibility that it can't be done that way, after market radios usually have to be wired into the wiring harness they don't just plug in for the simple reason vehicle manufacturers want you to use their radios & equipment NOT after market radios etc , you may have to get a auto radio installer to fit it for you otherwise if you don't know what you are doing it could be more costly in the long run......hope this helps......cheers.

I have Land Rover Discovery 2 Model 2004, my problem is I replaced a new CD player from Original (Land Rover) and now I want to return it back to the original CD player, but I can not remember the code?

If you do not have the code in your purchase folder, the only way to get the player unlock code is from a Land Rover dealer.

This was done to prevent CD player thefts, since they would be totally useless without the code. The program has been highly successful.

There is no "factory" or "universal" code, so do not allow anybody to tell you that they can sell you one.

You need to get the code from the dealer to unlock the stereo. right now it 'thinks' it has been stolen (happens when the power supply is removed from the stereo).

Default code P1451 Land Rover Discovery II

The code P1451 on a Land Rover is "Leakage Detection Module Motor power stage error Drive cycle A:Signal out of range - above maximum". This is an OBD-II diagnostic system code. As far as I know, a 1995 Land Rover Discovery does not use a OBD-II system. Is it possible that this rover is a later model year
