Oil Leaking From Above Oil Filter

There is a leaking oil seal in the injection pump thereby contaminating the fuel.Usually the front oil seal.

Heater core likely failed. Air pockets can create the gurgling sounds, but steam, actually wator vapor with some antifreeze mixed in is a sign the core is leaking. The only real solution is disconnect heater hose connections and live without it, or replace the heater core and purge out all air.

Check head gasket. Pull spark plugs and perform compression check? Check plugs for fouling. Check engine oil for water/antifreeze

Her car has one of 2 problems it is either a bad valve cover gasket (not very expensive) or a bad head gasket (very expensive). Good luck

You need to remove the filter and unbolt the oil cooler assembly from the block. There is a large O ring that seals the cooler assembly to the engine block. Replace it. Also examine or replace the fittings where the lines attach to the side of the cooler. It is bound to be one of those issues.

Sounds as if you have a valve lifter that is leaking down while sitting,pumps back up after running a while. This would be a job that a mechanic should do , unless of course you have done something similiar in the past

you must get vehicle up on ramps or jack stands and look underneath with a light,its the only real way to pin point the part that is leaking, but it seems to me that it is going to be a oil pressure switch,usually located on the block, its a small round part that is screwed into engine not bolted down,and it can be removed with a channel lock pliers.

It sounds like you may have a small air leak in your cooling system that is trapping air, and you can hear it gurgling through your heater core. I would keep an eye on your coolant level, and also you can rent a pressure tester from Auto Zone that you can hook up to your overflow tank and test your system for leaks. Most likely you will be able to tell where its leaking from, or see if its holding pressure like it's supposed to. Just follow the procedure closely and don't overpressurize the system.

sounds like the oil filter housing gasket is leaking. clean the area up real good with some brake clean and then run vehicle for 15 to 30 min and see if u can see whare its coming from. it may also be coming from valve cover gasket.
