SOURCE: Have Mazda bravo B2600 4WD ,has white smoke &

You dont say weather its a petrol or diesel engine as there a slight differance in the answer and if a turbo on a diesel thats even more of a differance, but taking it a petrol .
Well to start with the white smoke Isent smoke its water and after going through the engine it turns into Steam and thats what you see..
Running on 3 clyinders is caused through 1 cylinder isent working as a engine should and has a bad valve or a broken piston ring or more and even a cracked head and gasket letting the water through,,,also the broken ring works like a oil pump as if not firing given you power then it works like a oil pump and pumps it into the cylinder that dosent work only pumping oil into the hot exhaust system while running.CAUSING SMOKE
And if a turbo then could be the turbo bearings worn and pushing oil into the engine and still doing the same as before.
Let me know how you get on. RON

I have a 2010 mazda3 Diesel. I think the oil pickup filter is blocked. How easy is it to remove the sump to clean it?

It's pretty easy but you'll need to work under the vehicle, so make sure that the vehicle is on ramps or axle stands. Don't work under the vehicle just on a jack as it can slip & you can be killed.! Run the engine for 5 minutes to warm up the oil. Remove the sump plug & drain the oil into a suitable container. Remove all the bolts which hold the sump onto the bottom of the engin & drop it down. (sometimes there are additional sump bolts near the crankshaft which are on the side of the engine) You may need to prize the sump off. Do this slowly & carefully to avoid damage to yourself, the engine & to avoid twisting the sump tray. The oil pickup will now be seen. Remove the 1 or 2 bolts securing it. Wash it with degreasant or hot water & detergent Reftitting is the opposite of dismantling, BUT, You will need to clean-up both of the mating-faces of the sump & bottom of the engine. When they're clean, use a new sump gasket & a good oil-sealing gasket-sealant. Follow the instructions on the sealant about drying times. Bolt the sump back in position, using the correct bolt sequence & torque tightness. Replace the sump bolt. Fit a new oild filter & refill with new, clean oil.

On mazda b2600 1995 high oil pressure in sump

Hi Michael I assume your talking crankcase pressure? However if your talking oil pressure in general On a car of that age oil pressure normally drops not rises if this is the issue you would normally be looking at a blockage possible pressure relief valve or incorrect oil used , Sludging internal of engine or faulty pressure switch. If any major engine work has been carried out it may be something has been fitted incorrectly or wrong part fitted.
More common would be crankcase pressure on a vehicle of this age this may be raised. Easily checked at dipstick remove dipstick and you can normally feel it at the top of dipstick hole. Common cause would be from the minor to major issues; Wrong oil or over filled, engine breather system blocked, worn piston rings or bores or both, possible worn valve guides or guide seals (less common cause) but don't rule out.
Check the above in that order with regards checking piston rings bores , carry out compression test (dry) I.e. remove spark plugs and carry out test note readings. (wet) squirt about 3 shots of engine oil into spark plug holes from an oil can. Crank one revolution and retest compressions see if they rise dramatically. Again note readings Finally these tests should be performed by a qualified mechanic carry out a cylinder leakage test on all cylinders. After all tests are carried out you should be able to draw a diagnosis to what needs to be done. It may be that your engine is beyond economical repair and may be cheaper to drop a rebuilt unit in. Good luck

Stop oil leak in sump Mazda 323 1.6 motor

1st thing I would recommend would be getting the whole engine degreased.then drive vehicle for a couple of days and then recheck where leak is coming from 100percent as it could be running down from rocket cover gasket.
if you pin point the leak is coming from the sump you will need to drain oil and remove sump and clean surface area and resell sump and refit.also replace sump plug gasket while ur going.

Firing order diagram on a 1987 mazda B2600

To avoid confusion, remove and tag the spark plug wires one at a time, for replacement.
If a distributor is not keyed for installation with only one orientation, it could have been removed previously and rewired. The resultant wiring would hold the correct firing order, but could change the relative placement of the plug towers in relation to the engine. For this reason it is imperative that you label all wires before disconnecting any of them. Also, before removal, compare the current wiring with the accompanying illustrations. If the current wiring does not match, make notes in your book to reflect how your engine is wired.
