Many fuel pumps get there power from the relay that is energized by the ECM
there is a pressure regulator in the system that will report to the ECM to switch on the fuel pump when the pressure falls
if you have no power to the relay , it could be because the pressure in the fuel system is above cut in pressure or that pressure regulator is not passing the current to the ECM

You have a problem in the fuel pump relay circuit for sure then. I'm betting the relay, but it could be that dropping resistor.

SOURCE: my buick park avenue wont start, i think its a fuel pump relay

the relay can be found in the fuse box thats located under the hood open the box and look for the fuse or relay that says fuel pump. this fuse box is usually on the drivers side of the vehicle but it can also be on the passenger side.

My 2002 Buick century wont (crank) turn over ..jumped solenoid,it turns over but won't start ..checked all fuses and relays.. good happened after attempting to rewire front turn signal broken plug

Turn signal plug should have nothing to do with it not starting. Disconnect the battery for 10 to 15 minutes. Then try again with the key.
When you jumped the solenoid, it would start because the key may have not been in the run position. So the Security light was on, and did not energize the fuel pump.

Disconnect the battery as stated.

Why want it start

if its not getting any fuel, check the fuel pump relay. make sure you have spark also. to check for spark, put plug wire next to a metal part on engine then turn it over. if its firing you will see the spark jump from wire to ground on engine. Good-Day! Check all the fuses in the fuse relay box on the driver's side fender well. Replace any blown fuses and try starting the car. Good-Day!

No power to the fuel pump on a 1996 buick century

check for a problem fuel pressure regulator
most are wired to the ECM which is connected to the relay for the pump
it works like this
with low / no fuel pressure the regulator completes a circuit to the ECM
that signal is then sent to a relay to start the pump
when full pressure is reached , the regulator signals the ECM and the relay is turned off hence the pump is not continually running when pressure is not required

1990 Buick Century Limited 6cly wont start turn over or crank

Usually if the battery is dead, you will hear clicking. If the battery is good then I would check any Starter fuses/relays. If they are good then I would check for power to the starter solenoid. You can find many youtube videos on how to check this.

1989 buick century 3.3 car starts idles but wont run when giving gas it acts like running out of fuel but fuel pump stay running and has pressure new fuel filter spray carb cleaner it will stay running...

have you put a fuel pressure gauge on it if so how many ponds of pressure does it have also if this is a distributerless car turn engine with a socket see if there is slack in rotation if you turn counter clockwise 1/4 turn stop and turn clockwise if so you more than likely have a stretched timing chain or jumped time

No power on fuel pump in buick century 93, i changed the relay & fuse is ok, that always happen after the car became hot ,next day it wont start

If the fuse and relay is good, and there is power AT the pump, then the pump is bad. Fuel pump power goes through the oil pressure switch but only after engine is running. So there should be power to the pump for approx 2 seconds when you turn key on. There is a RED wire (prime, it will be a single wire poking out near relay) at the fuel pump relay, if you put 12V on that wire the pump should run, IF the wires and pump is good. The GRAY wire powers the pump.

My 1990 buick century wagon wont start. It was running good then out of the blue it would not start.I finally got it started ran great and now it wont start again, wont even fire. Its got gas, turns over but...

Check a few things, check your spark plugs, spark plug wires, also check your fuel filter, fuel pump, but the first thing that you should check is the ground wire from your battery to the engine block

1994 buick park avenue . driving home and shut off

how did you jump the fuel pump relay, by bypassing the relay or by applying power to contact that closes the relay? If you bypassed the relay completely you need to b ench test the relay you can do this easily by using any 12v dc power source. If you tested the fuel pump relay by applying power to the relay and the pump run and developed pressure. I suspect a wiring or ground issue. Good luck

New pump still no fuel

Its not unheard of for a pump to go bad that soon, can you hear it run when you turn the ignition to on position, if not chk. fuse and relay and all electrical connections and grounds, If it does run get a fuel pressure guage and chk. the pressure.
