You need o install a fuel pressure gauge on it and see if the fuel pressure drops down after sitting and how fast it jumps up if it does

SOURCE: 1995 camry has no ignition fire

I think for sure that the timing belt has jumped a tooth. This can happen if your water pump, or your idler pulley, which are driven by the timing belt, "locks up" for a second. Best advice: replace the timing belt (you should not "reuse" it, as once it slips a tooth, that tooth is now weakend. Also, check the feel of the water pump impeller-gear...if it feels gritty or does not spin freely, replace the water pump while you are in there. It's not much more work. Also check the IDLER pulley for the same feel. If it feels bad/does not spin free, replace it. One or the other caused your problem.
Let me know how it turen out.

SOURCE: 88 Toy, 22R Carb, hard cold start

in your carburetor there is a priming passage. look in there with the air cleaner out and pump the butterfly it should squirt gas. if it doesn't then you need to open the top part of the carb and clean the hole with a hair clip. if this is not the problem it will be the choke but I'm 70 percent that this is the problem.

SOURCE: oil leak problem with 1996 toyota camry

I am going to see a mechanic - my trusted mechanic who does not nickel and dime me - to see what this is. I have the same problem and he told me he has never done this job on a Camry and is unsure. Given the miles, he has suggested that maybe it is time to part ways with the car. I am going to ask him if he will put some florescent dye in it and let me drive it for 50-100 mi and then check to see where the leak is and fix it. Let you know what happens. I have to try, the car is solid.

SOURCE: Camry just quit running. I can't hear fuel pump,

The engines oil pressure switch has a third wire which is connected to the fuel pump. The oil pressure gauge may work although the third wire to the pump may be at fault causing your delimma
Once the engines oil pressure reached the normal operating range the computer shuts down the oil switches third wire to the pump and the relay takes over until you shut the emgine off

Cerokee 3,1td startoff solenoid

which engine, no engine stated means answers will be wrong.
so??????????????????
that above is a statement so will run with that.
so what makes you think there is no fuel pressure??
1: the pressure gage is way low? how low , that you connected.
2: the pump seems silent. (near useless test)
3: pump never gets 12vdc cranking, you must crank.
4: the dribble test fails. (wasted time) (rail drips)
5: the injectors seem all dry, (spark plug tips are all dry)

now EFI 101 (crash course)
THE EFI system will be dead if fuse are blown.
and the ECU never injects with spark errors.
or CKP errors
or CMP errors
or IMMO is active. immobilizer is unhappy see lamp, look at it.

if all that works good, the ASD closes
the injectors fire
and the car starts if the ECU/PCM sees any errors stated above
it drops out in 2seconds <KILLING all injections,.
this is the PCM logic hard coded for fire prevention. all cars have it
with EFI.
does that help.

key factorys, ASD closes, for 2 seconds.
crank with no errors (scan tool shows errors after 5 seconds cranking)
if that works the engine does start.

ask for more tests, i have 3 more that find any bad start.

My 89 buick century 2.5L is hard to start

-You mean. crank 3-4 times before it fire...?
If so. Possibly dirty injector, low fuel pressure.
-Or you mean you turn the key 3-4 time before the starter crank...?
If so. Solenoid has dirty contact or bad connector.

On a hot day my car won't start.some one told me it was my distributer.could that make my car not start?

Depends on what you mean by "no start". Is it that it will crank over and not fire or will not do anything? Will it happen after driving from a cold condition(meaning, first start of the day it will fire but after driving it has issues)? How is your maintenance and what has been done recently? Please let me know.

Toy turns over but wont run change fuel filter n fuel pump still

The fuel pump should run for a second or two when you first turn the key on, but then shuts down to prevent the engine from flooding if the computer does not get a signal from the crank or cam sensors which the computer uses to trigger the ignition system. So no spark no fuel. Check to see if you have a spark in the ignition system.

Hard start

Hi teabag,

I too, once owned a '95 z28, fun car to drive, anyway HO chevy small blocks w/EFI are notorious for being beasts on a cold start. Try this when you get ready to start the car turn the ignition on but don't start let it set there a few seconds you should hear the fuel pumping waking up. Now instead of holding the key and letting it crank and crank, just hit enough to let the engine fire. Not only will lengthen the life of your starter it will lengthen the life of the fuel pump.
