The rear driver side brake light and turn signal does not work, but when I checked the bulb it was working just not when I press the brake or use the turn signal. The left turn signal on the dash also blinks rapidly. Is it still the bulb needing to be replaced or is this something more involved?

The problem is the turn signal/headlight/hazard switch assembly on the steering column which the brake light wiring runs through. The part is easy to change and cost about $50 at most parts stores

any increase in bink speed is direcly related to a bulb being burt out.

When my blazer did this they had to replace part of the wiring harness in the steering wheel. It took forever for them to get the parts because we live in nowhereville, but once it was in it works again and no problems. I had to take it to the actual chevy dealer because none of the other places had a clue. good luck.

If new bulbs don't work, it is probably the harness that holds the bulb. I had to replace both on my car after fighting with the problem for over a year and not knowing.
