SOURCE: 90 corolla efi problem?

Classic fuel pump failure, Efi fuse runs the fuel pump now its open and it won't start. With it cranking and not starting add a little fuel to the air inlet and if it (flashes off ) ( runs a few seconds ) there's no fuel and the fuel pump is the most common cause. The pump is in the tank and unles s you feel that you as good as any pro mechanic and have the experience then let a pro do the work as the danger is high even for a pro.

SOURCE: Drove for about 10+ hours

There is an electrical short in that circuit and the fuse is blowing to protect the rest of the circuit components and wiring from overheating--which could lead to a fire. This will take some time to troubleshoot as running down a short is time consuming and tedious work. If there is any way you can get by without the circuit, do so until you can take the time to find the short.

The "back up" fuse may have the white back up lights on it and the license plate lights. I would look to see if any of the bulbs have corrosion around their sockets. Look in your owner's manual to see if there are any other items on that circuit. Ideally, you should disconnect or unplug every item on the circuit. Put in a new fuse. Then connect one item at a time until the fuse blows. The last item you connected has the short or the short is in the wiring to that item.

Why doe my 5a engine shuts down when i apply the brakes

stalls, the engine. ! STalls is the best word)
do all lamps in dash and all things electric die too?????????
if the brake lamps are shorted this blows ITS fuse and will not stall any EFI.
no way (wrong fuse, in slot , i lied)
my guess is, you are losing 12vdc electrical power. (should be obvious)
is the battery charged to 12.6vdc rested, (keys in pocket) or 10.
is battery voltage 13.3 to 15vdc at all times running, if not BINGO.

my post assumes the battery is dead and the brake lamps
is like the last straw (3amps) that brock the camels back.
or there is huge corrosion in a power fuse box feed. seen vast on old cars. have nice photos too. of the horrors of green death..

I have a problem with a fuse to EFI toyota corolla 2003

Hi there:
Sounds like to have a fuel pump that is shorted out or has too much resistance, this can cause to much of a current draw and blow the fuse. The EFI fuse supplies voltage to the EFI relay and then the fuel pump.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using FixYa, have a nice day.

EFI fuse keeps blowing in 1998 Camry

There is only ONE reson why a fuse blows: Something is overloading the circuit and drawing more amperage than the fuse is designed to handle. This is what is known as an "overload" or a "short circuit".

Plesase read the following two articles:
Where's the fuse?
What else could be wrong?

If after reading these two articles, you think you would like to try your hand at tracking this down and fixing it yourself, and you are sure you have the correct equipment (as listed in the articles), let me know and I will help walk you through it.

Efi fuse

This is caused by a damaged wire on the engine going to the different parts that are controlled by the EFI computer, look for places the harness may have rubbed through the wire insulation, it will be hard to find, but it will be there somewhere.
