ok it shouldnt be that hard to put the stock one in unless you cut wires the your dumb and then you match the colors up and if you cant do that your a dumb dumb. i am currently having the same problem but i know what im doing you need to get a special wire harness that you cant get at most stores go to radio shak or something well any place that has car audio stuff and youll have to special order them. but get a proffessional to do it. that would be the answer ok it shouldnt be that hard to put the stock one in unless you cut wires the your dumb and then you match the colors up and if you cant do that your a dumb dumb. i am currently having the same problem but i know what im doing you need to get a special wire harness that you cant get at most stores go to radio shak or something well any place that has car audio stuff and youll have to special order them. but get a proffessional to do it. that would be the answer

Check with CRUTCHFIELD. They have been good with helping me on this issue with other vehicles. Often this information can be found on their website or by calling their customer service line. They can also provide a harness at resonable prices that will allow you to adapt the factory wiring for aftermarket head units.
It is not recommended to cut the factory wire harness off as one day you or someone after you may want to reinstall the original unit.
The only thing you can ever do is separate the wire from the bundle where the cut happened, and ensure each connection is remade, by either a good twist, solder, or crimp connection. Then retape or use heat shrink tubing to insulate.
Call 888-648-7820 which is the Mitsubishi "hotline".
What they'll need from you is 2 sets of numbers located on the radio. All you need is a Phillips head screwdriver and a butter knife. Underneath your radio you will see 2 screws, take those out and life up the plastic cover that surrounds your radio. Take the butter knife and gently pull out your radio. On the top of the radio are a bunch of number/letter codes. Just write them all down and call the number above. You will be on the phone for maybe 5 minutes giving the person your information, but at the end you will have your code!
I had to do this when I bought my Spyder. Hope I helped somebody!
