2003 jeep liberty radiator fannot working replaced relay

I have replaced the relay with the new relay already. The A\C is cycling on\off but I haven't noticed a lack of AC cooling not related to overheating. I didn't notice any corrosion or burning on the relay connection so I'm just a little stumped. Any ideas what to check next"

Try disconnecting the coolant temp sensor with the key on/engine off. The Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor on the 3.7L engine is installed into a water jacket at front of intake manifold. if the fan comes on then the problem is in the sensor. You did the relay which is the most common so this is next.
hope this helps.
whoops i am assuming tis a 3.7L

no but there are a couple of cooling fan switches that could be causing your problem both are mounted on the motor one near the thermostat housing the other will be in the block one near the thermostat usually controls the fans.

It is possible that your Low Pressure Compressor Cut-Off switch is faulty, or your refrigerant has too low of a charge.

  1. Try disconnecting the Low Pressure Compressor Cut-Off switch and jumping the plug (not the switch) with a wire and see if the compressor kicks in. It has a 3 wire, 5v reference pressure switch.
  2. Check the A/C Clutch Relay and the Fuel Pump Relay because the A/C clutch relay is powered by the fuel pump relay. Since the Jeep runs, the Fuel Pump Relay works, so check the A/C Clutch Relay. It should be getting 12 volts with the A/C On, and supply 12 volts to the Compressor.
  3. Check the Compressor Clutch wires for 12 volts with the A/C on.
  4. Check to make sure it has the correct amount of freon.
  5. Check fuses 14 and 21.

Diagnostic Test Code (DTC) P1941 is NOT a VALID code for a 2003 Jeep Liberty. Are you sure you are reading (and posting) the code correctly?

Also, when asking about DTCs it is really helpful to also mention which engine your vehicle is equipped with.

Having similar problem with an 03 Liberty. Replaced Radiator Cooling Fan Relay $82 and drill new mounting hole. Fan will not run after shutting off engine, so I'm thinking I have a bad thermostat or a bad cooling temperature sensor. Heading to the parts store now.

2003 Jeep liberty

There are lots of reasons for a car to over heat. To say why in particular in your case is a vague question and vague answer.

If you are not capable of working on the vehicle and diagnosing it you probably should take it to a shop.

The following are possible reasons for your Jeep overheating:
1. Bad radiator fan/clutch
2. Clogged radiator.
3. Low antifreeze level
4. Waterpump leaking
5. Faulty Radiator Fan Relay
6. Failed Thermostat
7. Bad coolant temp sensor
8. Clogged antifreeze resovoir tube
9. The list goes on and on....

It's best to get it diagnosed by a professional
