Is there a restriction in the exhaust system ?
How about a restriction in the air flow thru the radiator ?
How long can you drive it before it overheats, and does it boil over ?

SOURCE: I have a 1996 Mazda 626 2.0 Automatic. It runs

of course the top is hot water goes into the rad from the top and out of the bottom into the engine, the fact that the belt broke makes me wonder about the integrity of the water pump, the impeller might be slipping, could still be the rad , does the heat go from the top to the bottom???

SOURCE: losing watger

you could also have a cracked or pitted head letting water into your cylinders .check to see if you are blowing water out of your exhaust if you rev slighty.this happenes if you do not use coolrant .straight water is not a good idea with aluminium heads, can cause corrosion

It sounds like to me that you have a blown head gasket. Possibly even a warped head.

SOURCE: 2001 mazda running hot, changed water pump,

Yes it could. Not turning fast enough will create an overheating problem. Also let it go long enough it could break and take out the radiator.

Car running hot thermostat may be stuck

You can remove thermostat and see if temp. goes down. Also check that fans are operating properly. Also check for any water leaks thru the pump (indicates pump is bad). Worst case scenario would be a bad head gasket.

1988 b2200 is overheating--we've changed out the lower radiator hose, thermostat, and the upper hose is fine. Why is it overheating? Radiator, heat pump, or water pump?

!st check and make sure the water is flowing in the radiator, then check
the timeing, Mazda will run hot if the timeing is rong.
