have checked the pollen filters, although dirty did'nt help with heat getting in cabin, still blowing ambient

  • Anonymous Aug 08, 2012

fixed heater, unclipped hose from engine inwards to heater and hose into engine from heater,

  • Anonymous Aug 08, 2012

low pressure garden hose flushed, got rid of some gunk and grit.

  • Anonymous Aug 08, 2012

undid bottom radiator hose and flushed with low pressure water again, more gunk and rust flakes

  • Anonymous Aug 08, 2012

reattach bottom hose and flushed engine with garden hose, got more gunk out.

  • Anonymous Aug 08, 2012

reattched hoses and filled with 100% coolant/antifreeze while engine running

  • Anonymous Aug 08, 2012

ensure heater and fan on max output and continue to top up coolant as it goes dwn

  • Anonymous Aug 08, 2012

took about 20mins but heater started to blow hot and coolant purged air

  • Anonymous Aug 08, 2012

check for leaks from hoses and clips on tight before quick drive

  • Anonymous Aug 08, 2012

heater will work but takes longer to heat up with 100% coolant :)

  • Anonymous Aug 08, 2012

top up coolant the next day if required and happy driving

Nissian has what is called a heater control valve . It is located under the hood in the heater hose going to the Heater core ( not coil ) this vavle controls the flow of coolant going into car it can be plugged or dissconnected . Start by having this checked before any thing else .

SOURCE: Nissan Altima no cool air blowing or hot air blowing

Hi!
It appears we have an Air lock scenario and you will need to perform a system Bleed.
Park the vehicle on level ground, when cold remove coolant filler cap, start engine and leave to idle, turn heater on full and blower to max. When engine reaches operating temperature watch and listen near coolant filler, keep clear as gurgling and hopefully a boil over should occur. Top up with very warm coolant and wait as it may do it again.
Check for heat inside vehicle if warm replace coolant cap but keep an eye on temperature gauge as the ~Air lock may have moved on from heater matrix/core so proceedure needs to be carried out again from COLD.

SOURCE: 97 Nissan Altima AC/heater fan only works on highest setting

Sounds like the blower resistor module needs to be replaced. Could also be the switch.

SOURCE: 2003 Nissan Sentra Problem overheating and heater doesn't work.

I had this exact problem a few weeks ago. The repair shop first changed the thermostat. Didn't fix the problem. Next step, they found the radiator was clogged. They replaced the radiator and now everything works fine.

SOURCE: Heater fan noise-'02 Nissan Maxima

Had same problem. Replace Blower Motor. Over a 100 dollars at local parts store, but found online for half price. About 30 minutes to replace. http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php?carcode=1431961&parttype=6916
6 screws to remove glove box, One plastic nut on kick panel and 3 screws hold the blower to the air box.

SOURCE: black smoke on my nissan terrano when you put

black smoke usually indicates to much fuel being delivered. If this is the case you need to correct it soon or you will damage the catalytic convertor. What year is the vehicle and how many miles on it? Is there a check engine light on? this info would help

My heater do not blow hot

along with what Charlie said I would do a reverse flush on the heater core. junk can build up in the core overtime and reduce if not eliminate the flow of coolant/heat.
flush it with low pressure multiple times in both directions when vehicle is cold.

I think i have a cracked head on my nissan terrano

When you had the head gasket done, did you find out what caused the overheating in the first place?
Did you replace the thermostat with a genuine Nissan one..they are not cheap but they work well?
Did you have the radiator taken out, the top and bottom tanks taken off and the radiator rodded through to make sure there was total efficiency of the radiator?
have you checked that the water pump is working, and that the thermostatic fan hub is reacting correctly to heat, and actually working when the engine gets hot?
have you had the whole cooling system put under pressure and left overnight to see if there are leaks anywhere?
Do you have any white sickly sweet vapors coming from the tailpipe on startup?

I have a 97 ford escort the heater is not working. The fan blows but only cold air.

you most likely have a plugged heater radiator, there is a kit for flushing them. if it leaks after flush, replace it,it is rusted out.

My heater quit working. I think it is blowing out a little bit of air but when I try to turn it up nothing more blows out. Maybe the fuse needs to be replaced?

it could either be the fan switch on the dash board, broken wire, bad ground, or if it is heat instead of fan that is lacking, then look towards the heater core under dash may be clogged. Chiltons or Haynes could lend mroe detailed answers of how to test(I'd look more at chiltons), which is (should be) available at your local library, alternatively you could call the dealership and speak with the service manager,.. Ford Customer service line at the factory has also been extremely helpful with issues that come up with their vehicles.

The heater in my 1994 Ford laser hatchback has died.Any clues please?

When you say your heater, do you mean the fan does not blow. or no heat fan blows fine. If it does not blow. The fan is located in the passenger side footwell, Turn fan to high and wack it a couple of times on center of cicular lookin thing, easily replaced by removal of screws around outside. If the fan works fine and it blows cold air make sure temperature adjustment knob is workin fine, you should hear it change when adjusting. One other thing, if someone just flushed your radiator or anything similir to do with coolant, check for a air bubble in the system, purge air out of heater core lines with a garden hose.
good luck

No heating on jimmy....fans blows cold air only....heater core is fine

Mine did the same thing you need to have heater core flushed out. Dexcool coolant clogs it up get it and the radiator back flushed and changed to regular coolant. This should fix the problem.

No heat from heater

sounds like the thermostat is stuck. check this first. easier just to remove it and reinstall without one just to see if you get heat. If still not working then there needs to be a good flushing to be done. just make sure when you do a flush to leave heater controls to hot. if still not working then sounds to be like a bad heater core. you might need a professional flush which uses high pressure to blow out any clogs in heater core. hope this helps.

The heat in my 2002 hyundai sonata doesn't work, Help!!!

Is the fan working and blowing air but there is now heat?

If there is no heat and air is blowing out check your radiator level. If the engine coolant is too low water will not get to your heater core. Remeber check the radiator level and not just the coolant reservoir. Becareful when working around a hot car. wait til the car cools down to check the level of the coolant in the radiator.
