I have the same issue and have pulled the wiper module fuse to drive it. I have also purchased and installed and new wiper switch but the problem remains.I have the same issue and have pulled the wiper module fuse to drive it. Could also be the BCM control module. Need to have a scan done on it to see if there is a code for wiper circuit. Sometimes they short to ground and wont break the circuit thus wipers continue to run. The BCM is short for body control module. Wiper/Washer System Components
The Wiper/Washer System consists of the following electrical components:
• Accessory relay
• Heated washer nozzles w/XA7
• WASH NOZ 10A fuse
• Windshield washer fluid level switch
• Windshield washer pump motor
• Windshield wiper motor
• Windshield wiper motor module
• Windshield wiper/washer switch
• Wiper/washer switch 10A fuse
• Wiper motor 30A fuse
Wiper/Washer System Operation
The windshield wiper motor module is part of the windshield wiper motor cover and controls wiper motor operation. The accessory voltage supply circuit to the windshield wiper motor assembly is used to operate the wiper motor in all modes. The windshield wiper motor is a 2 speed motor and is operated at low speed in all modes except HIGH. The accessory voltage supply circuit to the windshield wiper/washer switch is used to supply the windshield wiper switch signal circuits. The windshield wiper switch signal circuit voltage levels to the wiper motor module determine the wiper motor operating mode.
When the wiper/washer switch is in the LOW position voltage is supplied through a 24K ohm resistor within the switch to the windshield wiper switch signal 2 circuit, and accessory voltage is supplied to the windshield wiper switch signal 1 circuit. The reduced voltage from the wiper switch signal 2 circuit and accessory voltage from the wiper switch signal 1 circuit causes the wiper motor module to close the wiper motor accessory voltage supply circuit to the wiper motor low speed terminal.
Hard to say what's wrong without testing thing's . Is there B+ voltage to the wiper switch ? B + voltage to the wiper motor ? Do you know how to use a voltmeter ? How to test electrical circuits ?
Here is a factory service manual list of componets involved .

The problem is you don't know how to use it. Try and flick it right back to get it out of the intermittent mode. Also when you turn the wipers on it will stay on unless you turn it off, it's like a light bulb..
sounds like you have a problem with the parking pawl/position on the wiper motor.some of these can be repaired by a part from the dealer as its a dealer only part and sometimes the wiper motor needs replacing.if its a motor problem you can pick up one at the wreckers instead of buying a new one.
Humm, do not be mislead by the rain sensitive wipers. The system has the ability to operate the wipers from delay >>through full speed >>and off. Lever position is one clue to look for, but when the system has been left on, and you start the car, the wipers take one swipe....to indicate it's activation.
The key in your case, is was there any water on the windshield. or other debris around the sensor on the windshield....
There are slip rings in the wiper motor that should have a bare spot to stop them in the park position,if the wipers won't "park" then you need a new wiper motor because parts are'nt available to make the repairs to the motor it's self.
