2001 Grand Caravan V6 3.3 Vin 3 FLEX Driving on freeway and it died like i turned it off. Towed it home. When I start it starts and then runs for a few seconds then dies, unless you keep giving it gas. Scaned got P0106 - MAP pressure reading. Replaced twice, changed nothing. Had my uncle test the wire readings - good. He then checked lines for fuel pressure, good. Used his scanner, got same code P0106 but as the car shuts down it reads that MOD $10 is not running. Later found if we keep giving gas it will eventually idle on its own. He drove it down the street and park it where it was. Turned off the van and restarted, it ran. Next day went to start cold again and back to original problems. Unhooked battery for a half hour just incase I needed a reset, no change. We then replaced the Idle Air Control Valve and still same problem. Checked codes again now get P1684 - battery has been unconnected, P0106 - MAP pressure reading, and the NEW one P0320 - Ignition/Distributor Engine Speed Input Circuit. Please, any help appreciated, Can't afford to replace everything one by one.
Code p 0106 refers to manifold absolute pressure (MAP)sensor or barometric pressure (BARO ) sensor---range /performance problem====causes ---intake / exhaust leak---wiring --- MAP pr BARO sensor problems
intake leaks( vacuum leaks)can be purge vent leaks, transmission actuator leaks , dash vent controls vacuum leaks
exhaust could be cracked flex section of the exhaust pipe at the manifold

Charlie. You have replaced the ECM on your van?.
Kedwin,, Your problem is, the computer on that 3.3 L.
Need to be programed with the VIN nember of your car.
The Antitheft System will disable the injectors due a incorrect VIN, Bucause the body computer is not recieve the correct pasword between 5 seconds after start up.
YOU have 2 options. 1 get a ALOHA Smith. some of they have the computer required to program ECMs.
The other option is: Get a new ECM from the dealer, They will program if ask for that.
NOTE:::::: Other way is . Put the body control module with the computer from the same car.
OK... I hope this work for yours.
If NOT letme know I can look for more information.
Thank you.

try changing the coil- sometimes they get hot and break down- once they cool off vehicle will start and run until they get hot again
I had similar problem with Durango and replaced the "brain" with a refurbished PCM -- google for reburbished PCMs and call the Florida Company and ask they guys there what they think. My fix was < $300.00 by replacing the brain.

A multi misfire may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
Faulty spark plug or wires, Faulty coil (pack), Faulty oxygen sensor(s), Faulty fuel injector(s), Stuck/blocked EGR valve / passages, Faulty camshaft position sensor, Defective computer.
The engine is stumbling or hesitating, check all wiring and connectors that lead to the cylinders (i.e. spark plugs). Depending on how long the ignition components have been in the car, it may be a good idea to replace them as part of your regular maintenance schedule. I would suggest spark plugs, spark plug wire, distributor cap, and rotor (if applicable). Otherwise, check the coils (a.k.a. coil packs). In some cases, the the problems were faulty fuel injectors.
Random misfires that jump around from one cylinder to another (read: P030x codes) also will set a P0300 code. The underlying cause is often a lean fuel condition, which may be due to a vacuum leak in the intake manifold or unmetered air getting past the airflow sensor, or an EGR valve that is stuck open.
Good luck and hope this information helps, keep me posted, be glad to help you get the truck running 100% again. Not sure if your running a K&N air filter, and if you are there may be a flim of oil on the MAF sensor that is making you run lean. You may want to spray down the MAF sensor with a can of MAF cleaner.

I agree with phillyboy. Don't buy a compression gauge though. Pay a garage to check your compression. $40 or so.There are three rings on a piston, a compression ring, an oil ring and another compression ring. If your rings have failed on cylinder 4, that would explain the oil on the spark plug. The oil that is building up on the spark plug is probably causing the misfire and subsequent code.

Dont have anti theft or power options, manual windows/locks.
Looked for vacuum leaks, looks good.
do have anit theft, got ahead of myself
as it wont run the battery depleted. Jumped it and when accelerating to keep van running, It now sounded like everything was out of tune. And couldn't get it to keep the charge.
