2001 ford taurus - 135k miles - Replaced all spark plugs and ignition coil pack due to running/idling very rough. The problem seemed to be fixed and car ran much better. One day later, car seemed to be running a little rough at idle and sputtered slightly until around 1500 rpm. Turned car off and now it wont start. Car turns over, fuel pump is working, etc. Brand new coil and plugs and now car will not run. At a loss on this one.
You will need to figure out if you have spark to the plugs, and if not- if you have voltage to the coil to proceed.
Please see above comment i posted.
If you know you are not getting spark to the plugs, the next step would be to check for injector pulse to the injectors. If you have pulse, the cam and crank sensors are working. If not, checking those sensors is next on the list. I am assuming you checked the relays if you know you have fuel pressure.
what exactly am I checking in regards to the injector pulse? I have checked the harnesses to each injector with a test light and they all are getting power. Not sure how to check for the impulse. Please advise and thank you for your input.
You can buy a noide light or a low voltage test light if you don't have one. You need to know if the injector is getting a ground pulse signal from the computer. The light will flash as if the injector is working.

SOURCE: car was running a little sluggish, changed plugs
Make sure the HT leads are secure. They might be popping off, causing it to not fire on one cylinder. I always change the plugs and leads at the same time to keep them the same age. HT leads break down rapidly and need regular replacement.

Hi, I recommend you get a free scan at your local parts chain and write down the trouble code. I suspect you have a bad crankshaft sensor, but the scan will confirm. Send us the trouble code if you would like further assistance, and thanks for using FixYa.

So I have replaced the new coil with another new coil, checked the crank sensor, checked the power supply to the coil and made sure there is fuel getting to the plugs. All were ok. Still no spark at all to the coil. Tried arcing a plug wire to the manifold and nothing. Any further assistance would be appreciated.
