Wont start? Have someone get in the car and turn the key to the on position,At this time you need to be back near the gas tank to listen for the electric fuel pump to turn on .Repeat turning key switch on and off a few times to be sure you hear the slight BUZZ sound turning on and off .If you dont hear anything then your fuel pump is bad.Fuel pump and timing chain almost never go bad at the exact same time.Your shop is probably scamming you to replace the timing chain...although mileage wise it should be changed soon.Dont crawl under car ,open gas tank cap and put your ear near opening.

Where is the water pump located on a 2001 Infiniti QX4

It looks like your water pump on a 3.5L is run off the timing chain. I got some info which may help see it but may not be the exact as your car. If you are having some problems with overheating from what I saw looks like you have 2 thermostats and after changing thermostats, you can have air trapped in your engine, which will still allow engine to overheat.

Where is the fuel cutoff switch in a 2004 nissan quest? The car is not transferring the gas through the plump. It did yesterday. And now you cannot hear the plump. I just want to turn off the fuel cutoff...

i know that the previous gen quest had the fuel inertia RESET switch on the driver side kick panel...

fuel is cutting off via the ECM for your generation though

"If the engine speed is above 1,800 rpm with no load (for example, in neutral and engine speed over 1,800 rpm) fuel will be cut off after some time. The exact time when the fuel is cut off varies based on engine speed. Fuel cut will operate until the engine speed reaches 1,500 rpm, then fuel cut is cancelled."

Nissan Almera wont start with code P0345

Why would anyone replace those parts?

I guess the car was never tested to find any problems

No more to say

Common sense-- tells you that not all those
parts failed at one time or any at all

Does the timing chain and anything to with oil

Yes and no. If the oil pump is going bad the Connecting rods will knock. The Timing chain could be making the sound if the Chain guide came free. My guess is you have a 7 - 70 warranty and they are trying to get out of rebuilding your engine.

WHERE IS THE FUEL FILTER ON A 2004 NISSAN ALTIMA

The fuel filter and regulator are located inside the fuel tank. They do not require any maintance. If the fuel pump fails, it will come as a unit including the fuel pump, regulator and fuel filter. One less service item you have to purchase.

Do i need to change my timing chain when i change my water pump on a 96 nissan maxima?

Not necessarily. You should at least consider it if you are close to a major service milestone (90k, 120k, etc.). It is a lot of work to change the timing chain (belt), but you have to do some of the work anyway to replace the water pump.

2005 nissan sentra 1.8 liter wont start cold ...

These vehicles had issues with fuel pressure bleeding down when they sit for a period of time (like overnight). Nissan has issued a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) on this issue.

There is a check valve in the fuel pump assembly that holds fuel in the fuel line so that fuel is readily available to the engine. This valve fails and allows that fuel to slowly drain back to the tank. The reason you have to crank the engine for a long period of time is that the fuel has to be pumped from the tank all the way to the engine- may take 10 seconds or more.

Once you start the vehicle, fuel is available and since the drain back to the tank is slow, restarting after even a few hours will be much easier.

The repair involves replacing the fuel pump "module" assembly (it's a service kit that contains the check valve mentioned earlier). The fuel pump assembly is removed from the tank and disassembled and reassembled with several new parts. This is a dealer-only repair. Depending on your level of expertise, you may be able to perform the repair yourself, but will have to buy the parts from the dealer.
