2002 Acura RL Premium unleaded fuel question

Can i use regular gas instead of premium gas? Is is possible to convert your car from a premium gas to regular by mixing and slowly decreasing the amount of premium until your mix is completely regular without damaging the car? I have been told that it's possible as long as the manual says recommend instead of required.

Recommended is just that... a suggestion. most cars will run just fine on regular gas although you may notice a difference from using premium all the time. if you still have the owners manual it should tell you.

I accidently put super unleaded gas.on my VW beetle 2002

That is not a problem it is actually recommended that you use premium 93-94 Octane fuel, if you put turbo blue (115) in it that would be a problem but 93-94 octane is the VW recommended fuel type.

Is premium gas a must for the regular 4.7L V8.

Your jeep has two engine options, one was a standard 4.7 V8 and the High Output V8. Below is the recommended octane fuel rating.
Unleaded regular, 87 octane (R + M)/2 - Standard;

Unleaded premium, 93 octane (R+M)/2 recommended - High Output

What kind of gas should i use? I have a 2002 Saturn SC2--just bought it used and I forgot to ask what gas it takes--reg, prem?

Regular unleaded. Cars are designed to run on specific types of fuel and the fuel rating has to do with the temperature that the fuel ignites. The timing for saturn sc2's is set to run on unleaded. Premium will get you worse gas mileage, lower horse power, and possibly do damage to the engine by igniting at the wrong point during the cycle of the engine. As it says in the owners manual and on the gas clap, use unleaded.

I just bought it and need to no which gas is best for it out of the three types. and if i put regular gas in, will that break it!

when you open the gas flap to put gas in it should say "unleaded fuel only" or " premium unleaded fuel only". If it says premium only use premium. If it just says unleaded then you can use normal unleaded gas. But some stations have a lower grade unleaded gas. Use 88 octane or better.

Premium or regular gas

Fuel comes in different grades due to octane levels, the higher grade the higher octane, the higher price. If you have the owners manual or window sticker, you would see that the car was probably made to run on 87 octane (regular unleaded), I have been through the different octane levels for more than 30 years and I have decided that the cheapest runs as well as the most expensive. The higher octane will sometimes cause an engine to ping or rattle under acceleration, if this happens to yours go back to the cheap stuff and everything will be fine. That is my opinion, others may differ, but I run my BMW on the cheapest I can find and I still get 31 MPG hwy.

What type of gas should i use in a 2005 lincoln navigator?

HI. i recommend using the premium in this vehicle. This will ensure optimal performance. The fuel system will accept the regular blend as well but, this is not what this vehicle was engineered for. the regular blends octane level is not sufficient for optimal acceleration and overall performance.

Please rate and god bless:)

Super-unleaded or premium gas for 2006 lexus ls 430

Well, of course premium is HIGHLY recommended, but it is not necessary.
You can use regular grade in your engine and it will not harm it at all. Modern engine management systems have knock sensors that detect lower grade fuel and make the necessary adjustments to your timing and fuel delivery systems.
All you will notice is slightly slower acceleration and a slight drop in engine horsepower.

Hope this helps...

2002 VW Passat fuel type

If the engine requires Prem fuel I would use it, the problems of not using it are possible piston damage. decreased power and lower fuel economy, when regular is used the knock sensor pulls the timing back to reduce knocking, this i where the lower MPG comes in and power problems, if knock can not be eliminated then the pistons may be damaged. I have a Corvette that uses Prem fuel, if I run regular I loose 3 MPG, so the trade for lower cost fuel is cancelled out by the loss of MPG.

Regular unleaded (87 octane) is the correct grade.
