My Honda CR-V does not move well, whilst going up a small hill, I could put my foot down to the floor and it just moves slowlyish, revvinng but going no where. Also sometimes I want to overtake a car, I put my foot down, but nothing only revving, most times I have to give up on the overtake Anyone got an idea? The plugs have been checked and fine. Please help.
The problem I had has been sorted. It was over heating, but funny enough, no indication on the dashboard. Anyway, the top cylinder gasket was changed and it is now moving much better. The problem I had has been sorted. It was over heating, but funny enough, no indication on the dashboard. Suggest you focus on recreating the problem. If it's an automatic try power braking in reverse. Hold the brake on with left foot so the car doesn't move and slowly press on the accelerator. This will torque engine and drivetrain to maximum and may reproduce the problem at will.

Does the high-pitch whine exist when the engine is just running? Not moving (transmission is not in gear)? Running but with transmission in neutral (coasting down hill)?
It will not do any damage to the trans if you press the button whilst you are on the move.Just don't do it at 80 mph.Around town you are completly safe to change from D to D3 and back again. Its like the auto is changing to a slightly lower gear.Thats all it does.Hope this helps
when I make a sharp right turn with my 98 honda crv, I get a "squel' from the back right tire. I also sometimes get a squel that something is slipping when I accelerate from a stop light
The wiper phenomenon you described is normal. It's a really cool feature. The car knows that you're moving so the wipers adjust to your speed.
The headlights and radio light problems you described is probably a bad battery. I didn't know about it either until I took my 07 CRV for it's 15k mile maintenance and they tested the battery. They said the battery was defective and wasn't putting out enough power so they gave me a new battery. Since it was under warranty, it didn't cost me anything.
if your trans fluid is full it may be an internal problem in the gearbox even in the converter its hard to diagnose without seeing the car but i can sure try to help if you can add any other noises or symptoms i will see if i can help you pinpoint the problem
