Radiator c00lant and transmission fluid got mixed in acura mdx 2004

Most likely cause is a bad trans cool inside the radiator

You install a new radiator

The transaxle you change the fluid several time & most
likely that is ruined,if you have driven it at all

Hopefully only the trans fluid left & no coolant came back
to the trans

Acura mdx 2009 how many miles i need change transmission fluid

Use Acura/Honda fluid from the dealer. 3.5 quarts, I think. Any knowledgeable Honda/Acura tech will tell you every 30,000 miles. Just a drain and fill, never flush.

2003 acura mdx leaked all the transmission fluid out through the radiator and now it wont shift into gear?

It does not have any fluid to work with. You also burned out many of the internal transmission components if you drove it until it was dry. If the fluid just poured out onto the driveway, then keep the vehicle off. Remove the radiator and fix or replace it. Refill the trans with proper type of fluid.

If the trans and radiator fluids mixed, which can happen if the radiator tanks leak between chambers, then your trans is corroded inside. The radiator can be tested if you can not tell by looking at the Antifreeze. The bottom radiator tank is suppose to be separate and as long as it leaked on the ground, the 2 fluids did not mix.

Your biggest problem now is to determine whether the trans is any good without spending money to fix the radiator. If you take out the Radiator, some places will test it free. Ask them about whether the 2 fluids mixed.
It will be key to knowing the worst case condition.

Your trans fluid oils all the bearings and bushings and pumps inside the trans. If the engine is not turning, the trans will not burn out its parts. If the engine is idling, the trans will burn out without fluid.

I attempt to give the cheapest Solution to your problems. You can only test the Radiator separately by removing the radiator or having the vehicle towed in. There is no way of knowing if the trans was damaged until fluid is restored to the trans. If the 2 fluids mixed, it is a bad thing. If the 2 fluids were not mixed, then it is better for the trans, but bad things happened to the trans without having fluid in it. Sorry I can not give you better news.

My 2004 Acura MDX is making a whinning noise. we

the fluid could be burnt and the filter may need to change. You would aslo need to check the air in your tires to see if one of the front tires is low on air, then the next thing would be to check to see if a brake caliper is sticking.

What does it mean when transfluid get into the coolant

The transmission has cooler lines that run to and from the radiator. The fluid is cooled, by running thru tubing inside the one side of the radiator tank. The tubing probably has a leak, causing anti-freeze to get into the transmission. This MUST be repaired, due to the fact that the anti-freeze will do some damage to the transmission.
