ABS Light Came on and Loud Whining in Rear End?

My ABS Light came on and a loud whining noise is comming from the back of the truck. Noise isn't all the time, Just when Driving at a constant speed or accelerating. When Decelerating the noise suddenly stops. Just replaced U-joints, they were bad but were not causing the noise like I thought.

i have a ford ranger 2004 and when i accelerate or cruise past 60km/h it whines really bad. then the ABS light went on and it started to make a horrible whine when coasting. some say the abs light went on cause of the reluctor wheel on the ring gear.

Just check the wheel sensors and also might have to bleed the brake system

As your ABS sensor reads the rear ring gear, I would think you need to have your rear end inspected by a competent mechanic.

Id get a mechanic to look at it. Sounds like a rear end bearing problem. Axle bearings pumpkin bearings.

Well you can remove the sensor in the diff and make sure that looks ok they g obad quiet often also woulnd not hurt too remove the rear diff cover and inspect the rear end if it is whining and you dont see anything wrong i would refill it with lucas oil/grease and start praying check the pinion too and see if it has any play in it

Loud whining noise especially on exceleration in 2010 Mazda Tribute

A loud whining noise on acceleration in a 2010 Mazda Tribute could be a sign of a few different issues. Here are some potential causes:
  1. Power steering pump: A whining noise can be an indication of a failing power steering pump. The noise may increase when the steering wheel is turned.
  2. Alternator: If the whining noise increases with engine speed, the alternator may be failing. This is because the alternator is responsible for charging the battery and powering the car's electrical system.
  3. Transmission: A whining noise during acceleration could also be a sign of transmission issues, such as low transmission fluid levels, worn bearings, or a damaged gear.
  4. Differential: A whining noise that increases with speed could also be a sign of a failing differential. This is the part of the car that transfers power from the engine to the wheels.
It's important to have a professional mechanic diagnose and fix the issue to prevent further damage to your vehicle.

Whining noise is probably in one of the pulleys or belts. Probably the power steering. And the popping is probably CV axles.

2002 Pontiac Aztek - AWD disable light and Anti Lock Light

AWD disabled from a sensor unit in rear differential that senses high temp. This thing is over $300. Whine is from fluid. Need to change fluid. This versatrack fluid is about $40 per bottle and you need 3 bottles. Thumping noise is from loose rear knuckle bushings. These are part of the entire rear knuckle assy. and you must replace complete knuckle.
