96 toyota camry power door locks

Using the power lock on the drivers side I can unlock the doors but not lock them. The exact opposite happens on the passenger side, the doors will lock but not unlock. In both cases where there is no action there is no sound from the actuator. I am leaning towards the master switch unit on the drivers door but I'm not 100 percent sure. Any help on this. Thanks Rick.

Pull the door panel & replace the electronic lock solenoid.
Not easy, but this is what you need to do.

SOURCE: 2002 toyota celica power door lock problem

Are you hearing any noises from the pass door when you activate the lock switch? If not, the power door lock solenoid has failed, and prob needs to be replaced. Pull the door panel & check to see if it is getting power to the solenoid in lock & unlock. If it has power, the solenoid is def bad.

If it doesn't work from master switch then the door lock motor actuator will need to be replaced, this requires pulling the door panel.

SOURCE: Procedure for removing door panel on passenger side 1994 camry

Sure.

Pull off the triangle thing.
On the door, at the front edge, there should be 2 plastic caps. Remove them. Under the caps there are screws. Remove them.
On the rear of the door panel, above the latch, are 2 round things, with a smaller round thing in the middle. Press on the inner round thing, and pull the pin assemblys out.
Do you have a light on the door panel at the bottom? If so, pry it out with a small screwdriver (it's just a "press-fit"), and remove the wire connector.
Under the arm-rest, remove the big phillips screw that is hidden, about an inch back from the outer edge of the panel. You will see the hole.
Under the arm rest, remove the tiny plastic trim cover, remove another big phillips screw.
Remove the door handle: Remove the phillips screw. Slide the handle forward or backward to release it from the door metal. Undo the clamp from the lock rod to the handle.
Remove any screws at the very bottom of the panel, if there are any.
Starting at the bottom of the panel. pull straight out, to defeat the plastic clamps tht holds the panel to the door metal. Once the panel is loose, pull it up a bit to remove it from the window opening retainer. Finally, inside the panel, unplug the wiring harness to the window switch assembly.

If you need any more info, please comment back. And, Thanks for the FIxYa.

SOURCE: Toyota Camry power windows not working from master switch

Their are two fuses that power this system. One is a 15 amp gauge fuse and the other one is a 30 amp main power fuse. You can also check the power main relay, your ignition switch, or i could possibly be a fault in the wiring

95 Camry Electric Door Locks Won't Work

It could still be the relay, if the solenoid is working but the contacts are faulty. There are also several other places in the circuit which could cause this. Follow the diagnostics from p90 on, here

On driver side and rear side on driver side, both doors will not lock and unlock when use remote key. How can I fix the power lock to lock and unlock?

If the door locks by using the door switch the fault is with the master control unit. So there is a link failure from the master control to the sub units in the door, it can be a break in the wiring harness in the door hinges as this remote trigger can be lost on the driver side and which goes parallel to the rear side.
remove the panel and check the lines, compare to the other side to find the missing line - open wire. You can loop or wire a new connection from the open section.

Does the Driver side door lock and unlock from the lock switch inside? If not then you have a bad motor or bad connection to the lock/unlock motor inside the door.

Camry 1996 automatic power lock doen't work, but windows work.

if you can here relays when unlocking/locking check for power at door lock actuators inside doors, if you have power on lock/unlock and good earth from connector actuators are faulty.
if no power on test light when operating check output from central door lock module while operating, none coming out of module then it might need replacing.
check 30Amp power fuse for main relay under bonnet (which goes to pin 8 white/blue on module)and 10Amp gauge fuse in cab(pin 1 blue/red on module),pin 15 is also power when relay is on(red/blue) with test light, and module/ actuators.
check outputs from module pin 3 & 4
blue/red
blue/black
that go to door locks

1999 Toyota Camry door lock and unlock issues

I believe this was done as a safety feature. It stops a potential car hyjacker from sneaking in the passenger door when you open the driver door. I know recent Hyundai models are set up such that if you turn the key in the driver's door once it only unlocks the driver's door. If you turn it twice in quick succession it unlocks all of the doors. Maybe the Camry is set up the same way.
