94 Eldorado "Service ride suspension" warning

Is the ecm suspension module the same as the rss module. The dealer says the rss module needs to be replaced but they want too much for it. I have found one the seller represents as the ecm suspension module that is located in the trunk behind the back seat. Would you happen to know what it looks like so I don't buy the wrong part. Have not crawled in the trunk to take a look yet.

ok this is the module to control the electronic suspension
jusk ask for the suspension module to any yonk yard
or pick up part, but i have to tell you something a had a cadillac
giving me false codes information for the suspension and also i did had a message on the digital dash, since is been a few yrs since i fix it, i tough it said service ride control, any way the problem was a ground problem the thick ground wire going to the module was having a high resistance problem meaning the ground was poor, the solution i took was adding another grond from the car budy to the suspension computer ground i weld an extra wire and had to drive the car for a little while and that took care of the problem, and actually that computer was behind the rear seat but on the lugage compartment,
and if you want some wiring diagrams go the public library or
go to autozone.com and buy the repair information from alldata for this specific car, it will cost you something but nothing similAR to the 1200 good luck and any more questions? feel free to ask

SOURCE: 2005 sts code states service suspension and service wheel sensors

So does my 2006 STS....!
On the Tire monitoring subject.... The next time it tells you to service it, scroll through and see if the system is reporting a tire pressure for each tire, if it is, and there is not all dashes for one of the tires, there is nothing to worry about.
Note.... aftermarket rims, tire sealants and tire rotations done without "relearning wheel sensor positions", (page 5-67 in your manual), can cause a "DTC" (Diagnostic Trouble Code) to display and tell you to service it.
On the stability system, I have to do some more digging....

SOURCE: AM LOOKING TO BUY NAMED

Hi there,

It will either be the switch which operates the seat or the motor.

If you are handy with a multimeter, undo the power connector under the seat and measure the resistance of the connector "switch" terminals (the lead coming from the seat) while you operate the switch - if the readings change when you use the switch in each direction, then the switch is ok and the motor is bad. If no change in readings, the suspect a faulty switch.

Depending on where you are, I suggest you ring your local car dismantlers to find your exact model, and ask for a price - just for the switch/motor part of the seat.

Scott

Suspension issue with my RR

The system has a ride control module (computer) you must take it to the Rolls dealer service dept and have the systems control and monitoring computer memory read to see what fault code or codes are stored for the light you say you see on come on while driving. Once the code is read a technician using special equipment will perform the appropriate diagnostics and repair the cause of the problem.

Service ride control

Hi there:The service ride control light being on is letting you know the system has detected a fault. This can be caused by a defective esc module or a bad compressor. need to have codes pulled out of the electronic suspension control module.

Need some specific dealer tools in order to reset it or solve it.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

2003 Yukon Denali has Service ride Control Warning..wat to do?

Hi Jose:
The first place to start is to have Ride Control Module scanned for trouble codes, this requires a high end scan tool. Most common problem is the air compressor in the rear or a height sensor. Here is how the system works.

Automatic Level Control Description and Operation
The RTD system is bi-state real time damping system. The Suspension Control module controls the suspension damper solenoids and suspension position sensors, along with parts of the automatic level control (ALC) system and electronic variable orifice (EVO) power steering system.

The Automatic Level Control system consists of the following:
• Suspension Control Module
• Compressor/Leveling Module
- Air Pressure Sensor
- Exhaust Solenoid
• Compressor Motor Relay

The objective of the Automatic Level Control System is to provide constant ride height at all load conditions. The Suspension Control module monitors body-to-wheel height, and vehicle speed.

The Suspension Control module will use the rear body-to-wheel displacements and vehicle speed inputs to keep the rear trim height of the vehicle at its desired level.

The electronic suspension control (ESC) system is bi-state real time damping system. The ESC module controls the suspension damper solenoids and suspension position sensors, along with parts of the automatic level control (ALC) system, if 1500 series.

The ESC system consists of the following:
• The ESC module
• The compressor/leveling module, if 1500 series
- The air pressure sensor, if 1500 series
- The exhaust solenoid, if 1500 series
• The compressor motor relay, if 1500 series
• The steering handwheel speed/position sensor
• The suspension damper solenoids
• The suspension position sensors

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using Fixya, and have a nice day.

Service ride control light comes on. \r\nlow refrigerant

You first need to retrieve the codes. This can be done by pressing the off and warmer buttons simultaneously. When all the dash lights light up let go off the buttons. The on board system will start giving you all the codes that are on all the modules.First the pcm, ipc, acp, sir, tcs, and rss.Write down the codes for the rss module. It will also give you codes for the low freon.U sually a 46 or 47.The rss module codes will be so10 to so 80.Usually a bad strut. You can not get the ride control struts anymore.Even at the dealership. There is a bulletin for replacing these struts with regular struts and reprogramming the pcm. This has to be done with a scan tool from the dealership. If this is not reprogrammed the service ride control light will stay on after the replacement of the struts. Both front and rear have to be replaced. There is also a harness that has to be replaced. The freon code is usually a leak in the system which is usually the evaporator core and the compressor shaft seal. All of these jobs are costly repairs.Hope this helps.Let me know if you have any more questions.Good luck.

Service ride control

the light can be reset using a diagnostic scan tool. perhaps the mechan did not have the right interface for your vehicle. the body control module is what is responsible for this system and not the ecm( engine control module)now the only way for sure to know if the mechanic actually fix the problem is to check if the parts needed were replace under the vehicle ie the the ride control servo motors on the rear axles and/or leveler valve

Battery No Charge and Error codes

These are for 4.9L

P016-generator voltage out of range--Voltage is below 10 volts or above 16 volts with engine at 500rpm.

P030-Idle speed control (ISC) out of range--Check ISC for operation

A047-very low A/C refrigerant condition warning--check refrigerant level

I039-speed sensing suspension (SSS) fault--this one requires a lot of testing. Could be anything from bad connection at a strut, to bad ground, to bad strut.

I041-battery voltage too low--at 800 rpm, voltage is less than 10.6 volts

I052-keep alive memory error--means IPC lost voltage, and reset. Normal if battery was disconnected, or lost voltage.

These codes are for 4.6L

I039-loss of road sensing suspension (RSS) data--might need to replace rss module

P016-generator voltage out of range--same as above.

If you need anything else, let me know.

1999 Eldorado rear air suspension inflated to max

Converting from the air ride suspension to the passive coil spring suspension will eliminate this problem. To fix your air system you will have to purchase the parts directly from the dealer which means the prices will be severely inflated. Check out Strutmasters website at: http://www.strutmasters.com/Cadillac-Eldorado-Air-Suspension-Rear-Conversion-R-p/-cad-r5ns-el.htm My Uncle converted his Cadillac Deville two years and has only had positive things to say about the effects! I hope this advice was of some help.
