The fans on the car blow, but when its on heat it doesn't blow hot (it's cold). If it's not the heater-coil, than what could it be and how would i get to it, and, or fix this problem. And if you know how to take the black piece that holds the radio, heat/ac knobs... let me know that as well, so i can get behind it and see if somthing is wrong right there!
P.S. It's a 2000 Ford Escort ZX2, 2dr, DOHC 4cl.,
I cannot tell you exactly where it is but I do know there are flaps that move as you turn the heat knob. it mixes hot and cold air to get the determined temp. if the door is stuck in the cold position though you will get no heat. all I can tell you is it will be in the middle to passenger side and you should see some sort of linkage hooking to it. note there is a direction/panel defrost etc. flap
there is a fresh air recirculate flap.
there is ahot cold flap. so what I am trying to say is if you dont get it on the first one keep trying. it could have electric actuators that move these flaps so dont necessarily look for metal rods or cables.generally you can tell if when you turn your knobs and they are very easy it is electric. but if you feel some resistance it will have cables/rods going to them. just start digging under that dash.
Is there water-coolant in it???
First off the number one reason for car is not blowing hot is lack of coolant in the cooling system tearing the dash apart is not advised to check it will check the water second thing you do is grab a heater hose to see if they're getting hot with the rest of the car if they're not getting hot you take off a heater hose the easiest one and make sure that you have flow through the heater core as for the dash controls if you've never taken the dash apart and all the controls feel normal and not broken it's unlikely that's the problem. But you never know and enthusiastic stereo installer go to did something

TO THE UPPER RIGHT OF GAS PEDAL IS THE CONTROL LINKAGE TO THE VENT OPENING DOORS. YOU MIGHT HAVE KICKED IT LOOSE WITH YOUR TOE. RECONNECT AND IT SHOULD WORK.
