Question about 1996 Ford Crown Victoria
Can i replace the solenoid without replacing the starter?
You could but most people replace both at the same time. The solenoid is not cheap, and if one is going bad the other is in the same condition and age.

SOURCE: 1966 mustang 289. won't start,
Ignition problem... No signal from ignition to solenoid...run a starter draw test to confirm starter is ok --- You can run your jump wires to a remote starter button or switch to get around it for now.
I hope this helps.
